I actually been doing this since high-school, I still would prefer to shoot something that is approaching me with hostile intent before it enters 10m radius of my person. But maybe you are better with throwing, IDK.

That's not how real life defensive encounters happen. It will be within 3 feet. You need to know how to grapple.
A small fixed blade carried on your centerline is the best tool for that job.
That being said I quit carrying one after I moved out of Pittsburgh. I just carry a waved paramilitary 2 and either a 43, or a chopped 17.

Para 2 seems so big tho. It’s borderline pocket Rambo. I think the 3 feels better in the pocket.

The difference between the 2 and 3 in pocket is negligible. I think it's under half an inch.
I used to carry an endura. That was a big knife.
