Explain Naruto to me

Never watched much of the show but I know this is when they came back from a crap-ton of filler episodes.

What I see on Adult-Swim leads me to believe they didn't keep this animation style and it got cheap again.

Adult Swim's airing is currently in a really bad part of the anime. And after this arc is a filler arc. But the series actually does get legitimately good again for a fair stretch after that point.

Long running anime tend to have budget issues where they skimp on the majority of episodes so they can spend more on more important episodes or on particular scenes.

I guess the latest arc
(up to the point where girl and old lady killed that one chick hiding in a puppet)
that showed on Adult Swim didn't warrant anything special?

Edit:

Yup looks like it was not worthy.

Yeah I was at J-World in Japan a few weeks ago and it was like taking a goddamn trip to the future. Naruto got weird.

I hope when the subs are done that it's not too canny because it looks really DBZ.

No one cares about those characters.

As someone who doesn't read/watch Naruto, half of that sentence made no sense at all.
Let me translate:

"Madara Uchiha, one of the founding fathers of the Ninja village that Naruto is from, is the strongest villian in any piece of fiction. And I’m not talking about his resurrected zombie form. I’m talking about Madara Uchiha who has the powerful eye magic used by the founder of the ninja world, the most powerful eye magic from his clan, and with techniques known by the founder of the ninja world, his large fan weapon, his magical indestructible armour, and control of the Demon with Ten tails and the Demon's body. He also has his rival's DNA, Hashirama Senju, implanted in him so he also has techniques to control plant life as well as techniques that control the energy of life"

I don't agree with the quote, he's hardly the strongest in fiction.

Naruto is a outcast child who was shunned by all the people in his village because of a powerful demon fox that was sealed inside him. He never understood why he was shunned so he was mischievous to get people's attention. He always wanted to be noticed and become accepted by everyone so his goal was to become Hokage, the leader of the village.

The story follows his growth and development of how he becomes accepted, stronger, and eventually the hero of the village.

Wish the animation was good, I was so disappointed when they used that.

I think you should rewatch shippuden episode 167.

It's not poorly animated at all, it's just incredibly over the top and stylized (and the artstyle changes DRASTICALLY between the different animators used during the episode).

They went all out

Wow, well done

As someone who has been following Naruto since his teens and has only stuck with series because of the sheer amount of time invested in it... it's garbage. The series stops being about ninjas after the first arc and reaches DBZ levels of ridiculousness by its second half.

Just watch Hunter x Hunter instead.

So is the fox sealed inside him the reason he has whiskers? His whiskers have always pissed me off.

No he had whiskers before it was sealed inside of him.

His mom had the fox sealed inside of her when she was preg, so he maybe got some of his traits. Like 3rd parent or something.

IDK ninja wizards.

As someone who's followed Naruto since the beginning, this thread is a fun read.

If you're going to start watching, skip the fillers. Just google to learn which episodes to skip.

Madara is the strongest villian in any piece of fiction. And I’m not talking about Edo Tensei Madara. I’m talking about Rinne Tensei Madara Uchiha with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan and Rinnegan and with rikidou techniques, his Gunbai, a Perfect Susano’o and control of the juubi and Gedou Mazou, with Hashirama Senju’s DNA implanted in him so he also has mokuton kekkei genkai and yin-yang release ninjutsu.

I lol'd when I read that and thought about the uninformed people that are coming to read this thread, like, 'The fuck is he saying'.

Ninja puts demon fox in kid, kid gets hated, kid becomes ninja and joins a team, stuff happens, an exam causes a giant demon sand squirrel to destroy the village, gets punched in face, stuff happens, fox kid's friend finds his brother who murdered his family and clan, uses vampire ninja curse to gain giant demon hand powers, quits the team, they try to find him, and I think that's where I stopped paying attention.

All you need to know is that it's a cheap move to use the dog in the fighting games.

I like shows about whipping more than shows about cutting or chopping. Whipping is simply the best.

For me its abut stupendiculous (Yes, I made up a word) fight scenes. Everything else is kinda disposable after Sasuke Vs. Naruto.

Honestly you just need to play or watch Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations.

This will give you a pretty good idea of the story up to somewhat current.

It's pretty simple.

- Boy meets boy
- Boys beat some bad guys together and become good friends
- Second boy was always a dick so he runs away and becomes evil for no good reason
- Girl cries
- First boy can't take a hint, chases after second boy, even after continous rejection, and beats some more bad guys along the way
- Second boy continues to be a dick
- The end

What you need to know is that the series didn't really end, it just picks up on the second 'series' Naruto Shippuden. Set a little bit after the end of Naruto. I.e. early teens > Late teens.

The show is presented in Arcs, basically sets of e episodes that cover certain plot lines. There is however always an overarching storyline. Sometimes there are whole arcs of just fillers.

You can cut out a majority of episodes, watch the good episodes and good fight scenes, and read wiki for any knowledge gaps.

Basically, ninja boy is shunned by community, wants to become so strong that he can become leader of the village and finally be recognised and accepted. Becomes super, uber, mega, weapon-of-mass-destruction stronger than pretty much anyone ever in the process, but still not the strongest in the show.
