EXTREME GHOULS & GHOST (PSP): New Trailer:

Also, uh, UGG...

A lot of you are going to call it weaksauce. It's quite a bit easier than the older ones, plus it has the equivalent of DMC3SE's Gold Mode--checkpoints, resume from where you die, all that kinda stuff.

Sounds good! As long as it has a hard mode included as well I don't see how anyone could complain.

PS. DMC3SE Gold Mode >>>>>>>> Non-Gold Mode. The Japanese had it right the first time and it's nothing to do with skills or not. Super hard bosses + infinite continues is the way all games should be so the player can keep trying and improving until they've conquered. Having to go through a boring level over and over each time you die on a boss is just a waste of time if the level itself fails to provide challenge up until the boss.

Aside from the godawful climbing animation, it looks great. I sincerely doubt they'll make it as difficult as it once was, but I hope it's at least challenging.

On the flipside, replaying those levels does provide more orbs for more upgrades, health, etc... Slight advantage next attempt, assuming one remembers to bank all that stuff before getting slaughtered in the boss fight.

OH HOLY GOD GAME OF ETERNITY

boom

it's official

i've seen it all

i've seen everything

PSP = DREAMCAST 1.5, and my friends that is HIGH PRAISE INDEED

Electric sex! The one thing that always bothered me with the introduction of 3D gameplay is that we never really got to see how the newer hardware could push 2D games to new heights. This feels like redemption that I've been waiting for since circa 1995..a 2D classic given the next-gen treatment it truly desrves. The effects are amazing! Damn I need a PSP!!

Excellent! All that 'only 4 tha hardcore' bullshit, is well, bullshit. I don't have the time to get hardcore on games anymore, so no easy mode = no buy.

Holy shit, that looks awesome. Although I could tell just from watching the trailer that things were probably going to be a bit easier than you'd expect from GnG; the shield alone would change things dramatically.

But anyway, fuck me, that game looks good. I have to get a PSP now. :(

I can't believe it's taken them this long to take the series this way (megaman too) - it's totally the natural evolution. But amen that it's finally upon us!

The most exciting thing has got to be (as mentioned) that IGA might finally understand how to do Castlevania properly from seeing this and megaman.

This is something I said constantly when friends complaining about DMC3SE's gold mode. The hardest part of DMC3 was the boss sections, not the mission itself. It's just not fun to go through the mission over and over again to get to the part you were stuck at. I'd rather just play the part I'm stuck at over and over until I get it right. I already had the crap before the boss figured out. I don't need to do it again.

That trailer is shit hot. Capcom is really blowing it out on the PSP. I know this has probably been answered, but what's the scheduled/rumored US release date on this?

was this posted?

IGN preview...

Every game in the series is notoriously hard, and that's something Capcom decided to change with this installment.

It's been a while since i played SG'nG ... perhaps this isn't such a bad thing.. i'm sure it's still plenty difficult though!

I think teh hotness is schedule to be released during Q3/Fall 2006 in U.S., but might be released sooner in Japan.
