I signed up on Ebay a few hours ago, now whenever I try to place an bid on a item I get asked to enter my Credit Card information (for identification purposes) then, after I submit the information, I get a page that says this:

Please Create a Seller's Account
Before you sell on eBay, you'll need to open a seller's account for identification purposes.

Create a seller's account at no charge. It's fast and easy.



Wtf, I'm not selling I'm buying... what the hell is going on?

Use one of the 'Live Help' links scattered all over the site, or you can enter your card information as follows:

Click the "My eBay" link at the top of most eBay pages.

On the My eBay page, click 'Personal Information' under the 'My Account' heading on the left side of the page.

Click 'Change' next to 'Credit Card Information'

Update it in that screen and you should be good.

If you think this is annoying, just wait until you meet some of the buyers and sellers you'll have to deal with.

Yeah, I tried that but when I'd finished filling the form and sent it in it still said I had to register a seller's account before I could sell :lol

Anyway, I just broke down and registered to the damn thing, which seems to have worked... at least I can place bids now.
