How do you contend with static electricity when you've got none of those lovely static eliminating laundry sheets?

In general, what sorts of clothing are good to avoid this bullshit?

This is driving me batty.

Electrocute the cats.

Electrocute the dog.

Electrocute the friends.

Walk around all day in a field of electricity generated from this f'ing sweater. >:|

Wait, wait - FINALLY I HAVE SUPAR POWARZ! :O

I am the Zapper, and you will hand over your wallets - or else!

OMG I've never though to try to static shock our puppy... what happens when you do it to your cats and/or dog?

Dude, they get pissed and run off. :lol

It sucks because any time the cat comes over seeking affection, I unthinkingly reach down - ZAP! ELECTROCUTED CAT NOSE!

Well, we're convinced one of our dogs generates static electricity somehow. Sometimes you can have you hand on her while she's sleeping and you'll get a couple zaps every few seconds, with no movement required. She gets even worse when she's running around.. it's like owning a furry tesla coil with legs...

Yeah it's really annoying. I touched my dog's nose one time and not knowingly shocked her, poor girl ran away crying.

I get this a lot in my house, but from the carpet. I must drag my feet or something because I shock the HELL out of myself everytime I touch a lightswitch.

My brother and I used to shock each other all the time -- even to the point where we'd gather so much static electricty from rubbing our socks on the carpet that I shocked him with a 2 inch bolt of light that arced from my finger to his chest.

There was a point in time where I got a little worried about all the static shock my body would produce, considering how I'd somehow shock myself or others when I'd been walking on marble flooring all day, or touching something made of wood. Every so often I'll get really powerful shocks when I exit my car, though that seems to have stopped for the time being.

i have super long hair, down to about the middle of my back, and especially during this time of year it often gets super static. usually that transfers to my clothes and stuff, and i agree, it's damn annoying when you're shocking everything and your long hair is nearly standing on end.

if it gets too out of hand i usually take a spray bottle and give my clothes and hair a light spray... water seems to do the trick.

oh, and don't drag your feet on the carpet, or wear shoes in the house.
