F.I.S.T. forged in shadow (official launch trailer)

Like most other chinese games, this too looks a bit like a interesting mishmash of things. I feel like they still need to find their proper style and footing in the gaming space.

That said, it looks interesting and I'll check it out for sure.

Is this just PS5/PS4 and PC?
Yes, Sony co-sponsored it as part of its PlayStation China Hero Project initiative, so unless they are allowed to expand out after a launch exclusivity period, FIST is on PS4/5/PC for now.

(I'm not sure what the rules of CHP products are? A CHP game called Hardcore Mecha is now on Switch, so things may change some time after FIST launches.)

2021 has been a boon for Metroidvania games, and F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch continues the year's trend of games that would make Samus herself cheer. Join Tack, Marcus, and Stadnik as they take a tour of developer TiGames' exciting new indie title on New Gameplay Today!

Yaah replayed the first 30 min when the game unlocked last night and i just love almost everything about this game.

Tight controls, responsive combat, the production values are excellent for an indie metroidvania and the game clearly received some love during the develpment process, you can seecthat by the little things like the animations of the mechanical bonfire when you get your health back.

Play with the chinese voices, itcadds some charme but the english va is pretty good too.

the pc version looks nice. however it runs like dog shit with RTX on and I don't think it adds much to the image

seems fun so far although from pure gameplay point of view I'd probably play some other "metroidvania" instead

The game gets better the more you advance.

It's one of my favourite metroidvania of the year.

Lazy ask that I could just solve by watching video (or buying it...), but I'm wondering about the combat if it ever evolves into multiple enemy encounters at once or if it remains with singular enemies placed in specific spots? That was one of the common complaints in the trailers, that they only showed 1-on-1 fights, it seemed to me like that might be fine design anyway if done right but I was still curious if multi-enemy melee encounters come up later in the game?

This game is being criminally overlooked, definitely deserved as much attention as Kena is getting. It's one of the finest metroidvanias in a while (it's also great as an action game too)

There's plenty of multi enemy encounters, both during normal traversal and some combat arenas that only open when you defeat all enemies. The combat get really interesting after your acquire more weapons and moves.

Yeah it was a hell of a playthrough, I loved every minute of it..once I learned how to do the combos with the moves it really opened the combat up too. Heres to hoping they make a sequel

Why is the RT in this so heavy, DLSS in this game has some of the biggest uplifts seen so far.

the rt makes the game look more blurry anyway (even without dlss), has numerous stutters, and many surfaces stupid shiny (tech demo aesthetics). i think the only reason I would leave on is for water caustics

i will play in smooth 60fps dx 11 without rt and then maybe look at rt after the game is done

I started this game today and I'm loving it so far. Only gripe is I wish you could review your moves in the menu so you can quick reference what does what. But you need to go back to a skill machine to do so.

You fight multiple enemies at once yes.

Can't believe they gave the neko chan boobies, how dare they?

So unrealistic wow.
They should hire that Insomniac guy from Twitter

This game badly needed HDR, it looks very off at times, the lighting washes the image almost. Sadly the combat is trash so I'm not gonna power through but kudos to the devs, this game could be real fun if they'd work some more on polishing up its systems. It just needs more work.

Bought on a whim via Steam. Surprisingly fun little game. I actually think the characters are pretty darn cute too. It definitely scratches that MetroidVania itch for me.
