I love Blue and Pinkerton as much as anybody, but you guys needs to get off your high horse because Green is fucking awesome. It could very well be the best summertime album of all time.

It does rock, especially as a summertime album. I don't understand the flack it gets, it's still way better than Maladroit.

Agreed.

Some of my favorite Weezer songs are off Green. I don't know what I would do without

Knock-Down Drag-Out

It's a great little less than 30 minutes romp through catchy pop hooks. It never strives to be more, which explains the flack it receives. But, for what it is, I was in love with it. I discovered Weezer through the album, really. I knew Buddy Holly and all that fun stuff, but missed out on the albums completely (Youngin', I was). My brother attempted to convince me to listen to Pink or Blue...but I just kept listening to Green. Now, as I've aged, I think Blue and Pinkerton are better albums...but there will always be a place in my heart for the easy-listening, catchy Green.

Like Coldplay, it's inoffensive. For some people, that works. Not an album I feel anyone could feel strongly about, hate or otherwise. But I guess since it's the follow-up to an album people consider a masterpiece, it's hugely disappointing.

How could you place blue so low?

How is the album with Surf Wax America and Holiday not a better summer album than green?!!

I like Hash Pipe, Island in the sun, and a few others off of green, and it's definitely a good album, but doesn't touch pinkerton or blue, or make believe for that matter.

Maladroit.. well.. :lol

I just don't like blue all that much. Like I've said time and time again, it just feels rough in comparison to green.

Matlock loves the slick, boring production.Remember he recommended the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack to this forum way back when.

Green is full of great songs that are played really, really poorly with no enthusiasm. Island in the Sun, Simple Pages and Hash Pipe are the exceptions to this rule. It is better than Maladroit, yes, and it's about on par with Make Believe in terms of songwriting, yes, but damn, it's not something I can listen to that often because I fall asleep.

Beyond Blue and Pinkerton > * (wtf, Matlock), opinions are all over. I've learned to just invest nothing in what other Weezer fans say. :) Of course, that's go for pretty much any band, but this fanbase in particular.

The best green song is Photograph - but the "unreleased" 3 min version of this song is much better!

Pink > Make Believe(its so much better than people give it credit for) > Blue > Maladroit > Green

It's not their best, but it's still alright. I like the entire first half of the album, but have almost never listened to the last half. And yea like a couple of people said in this thread Make Believe is extremely underrated on this board. If nothing else it's a 1000% improvement over Maladroit. It's growing on me by the day.

For me it's Blue > Pink > Make Believe > Green > Maladroit.
