The 3 exclamation marks aren't for any particular Ferrari success. But this is the first F1 race I've been able to catch since that sham at Indy. Good race so far. I can't imagine the whole season has seen such a mixed field, but this is entertaining. The Macs are so fucking fast, it's unbelievable. Juan's crashed out already, though. Kimi is hounding MS so fiercely, it's crazy. I wish I'd seen more races, but this and China should be entertaining.

Anyway, MS is driving well for someone strapped to a set of fucking bricks that the BStones are. Fisi looks set to take this win today, though. Not half bad. If the middle of the season was this good, then it must have been a good season. I haven't posted in these threads b/c no tv and no Ferrari success has kinda annoyed me. The season was pretty much spoken for after Indy anyway. But I'll post today and in the last race. I am an F1 fan through and through, and I'll watch the races win or lose, good or bad. ...and Kimi just got through. Some good overtaking today. PEACE.

HOLY SHIT!!! Wow, this is some racing. Final lap, and Kimi just puts the finish on a brilliant rally. From last to the win. He just chewed up 20s in about as many laps. Amazing finish to a great race. I really can't believe the whole season has been this good. This is just insane. Lots of great overtaking today, including the best one, Kimi going around the outside into Turn1 on the second to last lap. Alonso passing Webber with some wheels on the grass. He also went around Schuey on the outside at 130R apparently. Amazing race. I think I picked the best race for my mini-comeback.

My boy Michael got a well-earned P7. What a difference a year makes. Last season I would have cried over a finish like this, but he drove a superb race today. The Ferrari was significantly down on speed at the end of the straight, yet he did a great bit of defensive driving today. I wonder what next season holds for the team. Massa isn't very good IMO, and if Ferrari sticks with BStone, it might be another nightmare. But at least the torch has now technically been passed, and he can retire a great champ after hopefully getting the final few poles he needs to complete his domination of the sport. China next and last, and then another F1 season will have ended. I wish I'd caught those races from July to now. But since so many of those tracks are garbage, I probably didn't miss much. I only really regret missing Spa. PEACE.

Catch a replay if you can, or grab a torrent. I missed Magny-Bore up through today, but this is BY FAR the race of the season for me. This was some classic F1 IMO. The Macs and Renaults were the only cars with a legit shot at the win, but the way the tactics played out was excellent, and the overtaking...my god, there was legit, fierce, breathtaking overtaking today. Suzuka is truly one of the greatest circuits around. DAMN!!! PEACE.

Classic. This race had everything, like 2003 at Silverstone. Kimi is amazing and has more wins than Alonso this year now. It's a good race for Webber Williams too I think and might I add that Sato is one crazy driver.

It's good to see the constructor's stilll up for grabs in China can't wait.

Nobody can in a normal dry race. The only driver to come close to winning in a really shit car since I started watching F1 was Damon Hill at the '97 Hungarian GP. He was on the last lap in the Arrows -- 30+ seconds in front of Jacques Villeneuve who was in the superior Williams when a seal on the engine broke, slowing the car to a crawl allowing Jacques to nip pass half way round the final lap.

I think Fisichella has fucked himself over with that two-lap display at the end. What an awful display of driving, why the hell was he going defensive at the chicane? The only thing it did was to allow Kimi to get up his gearbox, lousy driver.

I hope he has a watertight contract for next year, because Renault has newly crowned GP2 champion Heikki Kovalainen on the books and ready to step up. Fisichella made Flavio storm off the pitwall when the McLaren went by :lol and the last Renault driver to let a driver past on the last lap and piss off Flavio was Trulli and we all know what happened to him when he crossed the Flav...

In my book today was the best race of the season, just good racing beginning to end. I agree I thought Fisichella looked really weak going through the chicane, but the Mclaren is such a stronger car, I'm not sure he really could have blocked him anymore

One driver I hate though is Webber. Is he looking to kill people on the track? He's so goddamn annoying with his shit car blocking people and running them off the road.

You are mixing up two finns, Heikki came second and Nico Rosberg (son of F1 champion Keke Rosberg) won the GP2 champioship. Well, to be honest Nico drives under German flag but his dad is still finnish.

Finally saw a replay of this race on Speed Channel. Might be the best race I've ever seen. Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso put on a pair of performances that were simply ridiculous. The passes Alonso made on Michael on the outside of 130 R and the inside of that knucklehead Webber (still a great drive from him though) were as good as I've seen since Montoya on Schumacher in Brazil, and Hakkinen on Schumacher at Spa. And yet Kimi's pass on Fisi on the final lap might've had 'em both beat...just ridiculous commitment. From the first lap on this race was just insane. BTW, Kimi's win was

I can't speak highly enough about Kimi...he's been my favourite driver since he joined McLaren, and I've always known he was good. But to come from last on the grid and win the race the way he did, making the pass he did to keep McLaren's hopes of clinching the constructors title a realistic one, is just incredible. And seeing Alonso make the passes he did was just as spectacular. These two studs are going to be kicking our asses for the next decade. The irony is that these two really haven't spent much time battling each other on the track this season...for as dominant as they are, and the wins and points they've racked up, they've yet to have a prolonged battle for position that I can remember. Hopefully we can get that from them in China next week.

One brief note...Sato was disqualified (speaking of knuckleheads), and Villenieuve was dropped a spot to 12th, probably due to that wreck with Montoya on the opening lap (not sure that was his fault, but whatever).

Oh BTW, Kimi's victory was the lowest start on the grid to win in 20 odd years. The man is a marvel.
