Fable

HI I THINK FABLE SUX TOO. IT IS WAY TOO SHORT I AM QUALIFIED TO SAY THIS EVEN THOUGH IS SKIPPED HALF THE GAME IN MY MAD RUSH TO COMPLETE IT IN THE LOWEST POSSIBLE TIME SO I CAN COME HERE AND SAY HOW MUCH TOO SHORT IT IS. ALSO THE STORY TOTALLY SUX, I KNOW THIS EVEN THOUGH I SKIPPED ALL THE CUTSCENES TO MAKE IT SHORTER SO I CAN COME HERE AND SAY HOW SHORT IT IS. ALSO IT IS MUCH TOO EASY I WAS ABLE TO TOTALLY BREAK IT BY FARMING MY STATS SO IT WOULD BE TOO EASY AND THEN I CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW EASY IT IS. WHAT A TOTAL SUXXYGAME.

OH NO SOMEONE IS PISSED!

Here you go Rhindle, breath into this..

There we go..calm down...keep breathing, there's a good boy.

I hated the voice-acting,

Whoa, whoa, whoa...hated it compared to what? Console games aren't exactly the pinnacle of voice acting, here. I'd say that Fable's voice acting's comparable to MGS--at the very least. There were some weak moments, but for the most part, Fable's voice acting was well done, from the main characters to the most miniscule.

i played 3 times through in a row.

1st was about 14 hours taking my time.

3rd i did everything but was more like 10 hours cuz i already knew most.

i wanted to see all 3 types and different paths and ends.

this game idea has much potential.

yea, there is alot of potential and it was a really fun game... while it lasted, I just hope the PC game goes well and paves the way for an improved sequel

The difference in playing time probably has nothing to do with the actual gameplay itself but more with the loading times.

When playing from dvd you will need about 5 more hours to finish the game compared to playing it from the harddrive. Not that I have a modded xbox of course, since that's not 100% legal... Just what I've heard.

That was a big problem, yes. I usually like to explore in my RPGs, but I didn't in Fable because of the loading.

One of the best games this generation and should of been game of the year when it came out. Can't wait for the PC version.

The music and art is one of the main things i loved about Fable. And stupid things like comments by innocent people as i hack down bandits. The over the top dramatic dive the innocent guys perform when you hack em, the way people gather around a dead body and start talking to each other.

The game ozzes so much charm. I adore it, absolutely love everything about it. The crooked, warped dark forest settings, the look of the towns, the way men drop their crates when i run into them, the mini games in the pub, the pathways, the stories (books you would steal from peoples house).

Fable 2 on 360 is probably my most wanted game next gen. Over any Zelda game, MGS game or Halo game.

I hated this game. I hated the way the world seemed to bend as you turned in a circle, I hated the art style, I hated the voice-acting, I hated the cookie-cutter, stereotyped and completely forgettable characters, I hated the obvious fetch-questing, but most of all I hated the way you're herded along in a big rush - and this, after hearing so much hype about how this wouldn't be linear like every other damn RPG out there. Hell, it would've been OK, Grandia II was the most linear game I've ever played but I enjoyed it because it was a high-quality experience. But because Fable was so totally unlike what we had ALL been led to expect, I was disgusted. I was finished with this game after 15 minutes, and I doubt I'll ever touch it again except to sell it.

:rolleyes ... this is the type of shit that brings GAF down. After 15 minutes, you didn't even get through the introduction. Trolling doesn't get more obvious than this.

Personally, I enjoyed Fable. I thought it was a great romp and offered a unique experience in gaming. I've never played anything like it and it was one of the few games this gen that I just had to finish. Can't wait for Fable 2.

It was obnoxious and abrasive, and it hurt my head. There are even games not in the RPG genre, like Halo, Psychonauts or GTA, that have both better stories and better voice acting.. and KOTOR walks all over it.

I didn't have a freakin' stopwatch, it might have been longer than that. I gave it long enough to get a taste of the storyline and sample the gameplay mechanics. It felt like I got hit over the head with every RPG cliche in existence, and as if that wasn't bad enough, it was disorienting just to run around because the whole environment bends and folds as you walk.

The things I hated most about Fable where the age system and the non-openness of the world.

My character seemed to age 10 years an hour and the world was almost all small paths with invisible walls blocking your surroundings...I lost interest by the time I had a 60-something year old hero...probably in less than 7 hours of total game time

Loved Fable. I agree with Prine, it was the little things that made it great. One of the only Xbox games I feel like I have to hang on to. Can't wait for a bigger, better sequel in the future.

Yeah I wished my guy didn't age so fast.

And if you want to destroy the final boss,
Beserk + Multiple Blade Hit.
I beat one of his stages in one tap of the A button.
SLICE (800 + 800 + 800 + 800 + 800)!

I regret buying Fable. It's going back to get some store credit without being completed. BORING!

Jade Empire is far more entertaining IMO.

that
Multiple hit move was so fucking overpowered...hated the berzerk move...smouldering with generic rage? no thanks
:b

Jade Empire *is* better...I felt that Jade Empire + Fable's battle system would be the perfect game

Yeah it was overpowered. I dunno why it wasn't like the
multiple arrow move
since that was weaker than a normal arrow hit.

I hated the world in Fable. Nothing to explore, invisible walls everywhere, sometimes you can walk through a puddle, sometimes you can't. Treasure chests mostly could just be found sitting on the sides of roads. If Fable 2 doesn't have a world like Oblivion then no sale.

I don't care what changes they make to Fable, I'm not touching it. It had annoying voices (everybody sounded like a drunk idiot), bad world design, horrible character design, crappy fighting, a healing potion every screen, way too easy difficulty, not enough side quests, bad balance of power in moves and items, stupid loads, confined areas, linear as linear can be objectives, and bosses as easy as common enemies.

Fable didn't just fall short of what was promised, it fell short on just about everything else that makes a good game...uh, erm, good.

I didn't think it was bad..just, it's alright. It doesn't really feel like its anything they said it was going to be, so they earned the backlash I think.

wow people actually knock the voice acting.

Some of you sure are bitchy.

The voice acting was good, the art was great, the music was awesome (Danny Elfman and some random talented guy Russell Shaw). The battle system was ok. The length of the game and loading times sucked.

I'm not sure what oblivion's world will be like. But I'd like Fable 2 to be inbetween Morrowind and Fable. Morrowind is too large and too redundant. Fable is too small.

Maybe some people just have a differing opinion than your own. Ever think of that?

I didn't think the voice acting as all that great myself either. It seemed to all sound the same after a while. The art was ok. The graphics had a weird look to them since the shadows were on a polygonal level instead of at the pixel level.

The game, quite frankly IMO, sucked. Has nothing to do with bitchy. Bitchy, according to you, appears to be people who simply don't agree with your opinion.

Oh, i'm sorry.

IMO, You're bitchy IMO. IMO.

Deal with it.

People are knocking every aspect of the game as terrible when it's clearly not. I don't think you can say the music sucks. Because for it's style, the music is very good. The voice acting suites the environment. You can say you don't like the environment, but you can't say that it sucks. It's so subjective.

But that's just my opinion.

According to you it's clearly not.

That's correct. It's my opinion that it's clearly not. And it's my opinion that people cannot say that every single aspect of the game is flawed.

People can say it, but I don't agree with their argument.

Maybe I should have put another IMO in there or "but that's just my opinion."

:)

I love the way the game world consisted of hills, twisting paths and over the top structures. Feels far more organic and fairy tale-like.

Im so happy for BBB, seeing as thier game cleared over a million in sales pretty quickly, hopfully influences MS to back games without guns and explosions.

I sort of enjoyed Fable, it was ok, had tons of untapped potential though. But the art just turned me off, I just found it unappealing for some reason, not Rare level bad, but just bad to me. I'd check out a sequel.

quit pussyfooting around...either tell people with opposing opinions to fuck off and die or pander toward their obviously inferior opinions in the hopes of becoming politically correct (because let's face it...the universe DOES revolve around the individual)...fuck having to signify each post with a "IMO" or a "I think". say what's on your mind and let people figure out that when you say "THE GAME IS NOT FLAWED" that you are obviously stating opinion and not fact

let it be known that I was and still am 100% against you. Fable is flawed. Good? Yes. GOTM? maybe but that is where any praise ends

let it be known that I was and still am 100% against you. Fable is flawed. Good? Yes.

That's actually my stance. The game has much to improve on.

I was just disagreeing with the apparent notion that every single aspect of the game is flawed. The music and atmosphere were great. The game length and loading times were not.

Well this thread turned to complete shit and as usual its in a fable thread. You've got people constantly coming in with last words trying to piss others off,it sounds like a stupid grade school sand box war.

I agree with igns review on fable. The music, gameplay and art is just awesome. Its a little short, but then again it took me 20hours to finish it.

Anyone who says fable is average is a todger.

Yeah really.:) Fable isn't nearly the turd that some make it out to be,some just can't stand the fact that others enjoyed the game.
