An interesting development due to the ongoing debate about gender etc. The gist of it is that people who have transitioned from Female to Male or visa versa want to be able to post pictures of thier bare naked chests on social media.

But this technically breaks most current social media rules about what is permitted. Currently naked Male chests are considered fine bit Female chests are not.

And the recent development is that the Oversight board for Meta ruled that this policy does not make sense anymore. Because it is trans exclusive. And they recommended this policy be dropped.

As mentioned above, kids aren't idiots. If they have access to a computer/phone there is a 99.9% chance they can see boobs elsewhere if they really want, even with parental filters in place.

Maybe I'll change my mind on it later. But I can already see boobs with blurred/covered nipples on Instagram within the TOS. Anyone really give a shit? Don't give your kid a smartphone if you don't want them looking up boobs. They'll still find a way to see them anyway. Better to teach them about the difference between exposed breasts and porn yourself at an appropriate age.

That being said I deactivated my Facebook many years ago, due to the amount of horrific gory stuff you would stumble across.

You would see people set on fire in the streets, and some poor dude that got hit by a car, he went flying and was bleeding horribly from his head.

It just made me feel sad/sick seeing that stuff.

You report it to Facebook and apparently it violates no terms.

Not to pile on too hard onto the rebuttals, but I just wanted to add on to other points that kids are more likely to look at tiktok and youtube 9 times out of 10 than facebook and instagram. Every time I've heard any kid in my extended family mention any social media, they consider facebook an ancient relic of the past, and some of them literally only have an account on it because their older family members(like grandparents) only want to communicate with them through it.

There have been quite a few rumors stating that the reason Zuckerberg doubled down on VR was because of the fear of both potentially dying and nothing from Meta being able to replace them.
