Factor 5 also on Xenon?

Dunno, found this on Gamefront :
Matt von IGN hat im Forum der Website geschrieben, dass Factor 5 (Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike GC) und Silicon Knights (Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem GC) definitiv nicht an Software für Nintendos Revolution-Konsole arbeiten. Dafür seien wohl Projekte für Xbox 2 (Xenon) in Planung...

short summary : Factor 5 and SK are not working on Revolution software

delete if old...

I read that thread at IGN. It's amazing how great a developer is when they work on the platform of your choice for some, and how crappy they are when they don't. Man alive that board is trash.

The same could be said for the other camps when both developers were with Nintendo. I seem to recall quite a few amusing threads when the first Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II pics ended up on the internet.

Awesome. I don't give a crap which system F5 are developing for, so long as it's next gen and not just the PSP (as rumoured to be likely). I just want to see what they can pull off on the new hardware.

Plus, my hopes of Rogue Squadron online are now fully alive.

Wow, I could imagine them making Star Wars Online and Too Human, respectively, for the Xenon, but maybe that's just wishful thinking :)

Factor 5 are great technicians, it should be interesting to see what they can get out of the Xenon hardware. Hopefully it will also play well.

You know...knowing factor5, I think kind of quality, or something close to it, could well be feasible next gen :D

I would just hope the mechanics are shaken up a little.

Why must SK leave Nintendo?! :(

Since Matt already told us they will not be developing any games for the Revolution, tell us about the break up with SK and Nintendo.

I fucking concur.

I don't think it means that they will never develop any software for the Revolution. I don't understand why they would get upset, its understandable that they'll start development on Xenon, it will be the first next-gen console on the market. And we all know F5 loves new hardware.

Too bad SK gets screwed out of every franchise they make. Watch MS steal Too Human from them. :lol
Who said MS would be the publisher? And even then, unless MS actually paid for the develoment, there is no reason why the franchise would go to them.

I think there's more to it than that. Where were they with DC? Or PS2?

Well they did do another Star Wars title before the N64 phased out, I think it was Naboo something. Plus they were involved in GC hardware development, is it possible they could be doing the same for MS, yes, but I doubt it. We would have heard something by now.

Given what they pulled off on the GC, I wouldn't be at all surprised if that above pic is well within F5's grasp come next gen.

Those last 3 screens are from Rogue Leader and not Rebel Strike, but I wanted to show the huge ships in space to go with that above picture, and I couldn't find the pics for Rebel Strike. And if they were pulling that off at launch this gen in less than a year, who knows what they could do on the Xbox 360.

I mean it's basically all there. Lighting effects, huge ships, lots of smaller ships, self shadowing, good explosions...all it needs is that next generation push to attain the levels we hope for.

That is, if they're even making a Rogue Squadron game.

This isn't really new, it was predictable.

Factor 5: They made tools for XNA, so they helped MS a little bit.
Let the animals fight on Xbox 2 :lol

Silicon Knights: Nothing to say.

Damn Smurf, now I want RS back, hopefully I can get my brother to do co-op with me.

I'd really like to see them work for PS3 given that it's supposedly the stongest hardware. F5 would be able to rival Naughty Dog in maximizing the hardware.

True, but given what they did on the "middle" platform last gen, I don't think many of us will be complaining once we see the game. Although I remember many "Xbots" lamenting about how F5 could do so much better on Xbox..I doubt they'll be so vocal in dreaming up the possibilities on PS3 ;) Who knows, though - F5 could still end up working on Revolution and/or PS3 games at some point.

Both Factor-5 and Silcon Knights have been on the losing side for 2 generations. Will Xenon make a 3rd? Tune-in to find out, on the GAF!

Thos pics makes Rebel Strike look better than it was. RS looked that good, but when you played Rebel Strike, it was obvious they lowered the rez and turned down some of the animations (like the tie-fighters in the distance tick-tocking as they turned)

Well you quoted him and replied, but...no, no I can't see the relation between the two.

EDIT: Referring to the reply to Mike Works.

I know what he's talking about :P just taking the moment to say that it stunk

Also, has SK picked up a new publisher yet?

Blood Omen >>>>>>> Eternal Darkness

SK has yet to do a better game than the original Blood Omen: Legacy of Load.

Oh, and the PC version of Blood Omen had no load times :)

yeah and the sad thing is that it's not something to brag about either :P

actually their best game was MGS:TT only cause they didn't make it.

No, the original Blood Omen is still their best game. As you said, they didn't make MGS:TTS - that is originally Kojima's game.

It looked like that to me, I was playing in progressive scan.

Prog scan doesn't remove jaggies.
