Thick Thighs Save Lives
NeoGAF's Physical Games Advocate Extraordinaire
The Chinese outlet Bonfire/Gouhou recently interviewed Toshihiro Kondo, the president of developer Nihon Falcom. They discussed various topics pertaining to the company’s recent releases, such as Ys X Nordics and the upcoming The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki -Farewell O Zemuria-.
This interview is fully readable in English thanks to the translation and editing efforts of Hansuke and Lanju, respectively.
Regarding Ys, Kondo revealed that, unsurprisingly, the beginning phases of development are in place for the next Ys game. However, additionally and more substantially, multiple Ys projects are in the works right now, and they’re not “new.” Of course, even as the translator notes, this heavily implies that new Ys ports are on the way.
You can view a translation of this exchange below:
Reporter: Is the next “Ys” game in development yet? How long will it take before we see it?
Kondo: We’ve already begun the initiation phase within the company for the next Ys title, but it may be a while before we actually start any sort of development. Another thing I can say is that we have a few other “Ys” projects in the works right now; though they are not “new,” they will be disclosed, revealed one at a time.
Translator Note: More ports will be revealed in a timely manner. Looking forward to these reveals.
