Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Days and days, we see fall of projects, economy is gone truly bad these days. dev cost in west are skyrocketing too high while risk are greater in AAA/AA for investor. It will be bad for long run if these keep happening...

In genuinely surprised that Bend is still functioning, with the amount of canceled projects and disregard, the morale must be low.

Days Gone came out in 2019, it's been 6 years now and not even a single new announcement from the studio.

Such a shame because I did like Days Gone.

Bend isn't long for this world maybe they should go the remaster remaster remaster route like nd to stay a float for the next 1/4 century

Small note - His work was really minimal or I'm missing something?
I suppose that one of the major problems in Gaming industry is "pulverization of tasks" among specific workers. Maybe they realized a single worker for those tasks was way too much and a productivity boost was needed (managing too many people means managing too many risks of delay)

All these mofos had to do was to make DG2. Instead, they have wasted an entire decade.
I wouldn't even be surprised if they were shut down at some point in the future.

Sony execs (and those of other companies) sole job is to come in to work and ask the age old question "how do we live-service every game we release?". It's quite brazen actually lol.

So yeah I don't think Days Gone 2 will ever happen, and if it does it definitely won't be by the same people who made the original.

This industry is truly retarded.

If Horizon got a sequel, Days Gone should have got too.

Both are very similar - mediocre story, good 3rd person combat, large open world with beautiful vistas, checklist style missions, all crafted with high production values. I think it's the theme, horizon is more accessible whereas Days Gone is gory and more lite horror that will make first time gamers not pick it up.

Personally I think out of all good zombie games out, Days Gone is the weakest. Exceptional 3rd person combat? TLOU2 Exceptional movement, parkour? Dying Light 2 ( and 1 ). Fun, cool melee first person combat? Dead Island 2 Tight, Horror, gameplay, puzzles and atmosphere? RE4R. More horror? RE2R. Horror and story? Silent Hill 2 Remake.
