Risa Ebata's art was nasty in Gravion, unbearably ugly in Macross Frontier and dumb as hell in The Inspector. How is she still getting work? And in "high-profile, big-budget" projects, at that.

I'm nominating you to make the OT for AKB0048 next year.

Well, when's the last time he did something that wasn't Macross that actually made money?

Aquarion definitely made money. Otherwise there wouldn't be a sequel. Escaflowne is also a pretty big hit. He also manages to keep Macross alive and profitable. I would say he's definitely not a commercial failure.

Well, I guess Japanese society isn't so sinful after all.

Hopefully the image is accurate and this film will focus on a small number of characters as opposed to Summer Wars, which had such a large cast that it felt really unfocused at times.
I pray for this as well. Hopefully he realises that the large cast left us rather more detached from each individual character.
15 pages and no mention of a sequel to Bakemonogatari? Did I miss the memo and has it already been confirmed to be a trainwreck or is just nobody interested in this?

Bakemonogatari was about the only thing of recent years besides Gurren Lagann and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt that interested me.

When it was announced, a while back, there was quite a lot of discussion. This happened in the previous iteration of this very thread.

One day there will be an AKB49 anime handled by competent people.

Phi Brain 11

Elena is still a bitch. Kaito and the gang are too damn forgiving.

More than those guys, I'm really interested in the culture of the POG Givers. It really seems like they have absolutely no problem outright murdering people who can't solve their puzzles. We aren't going to see stuff like that based on the tone of the show, but with the introduction of Luke, it does raise some questions just how far this organization has gone and why.

It's pretty sad, even as member of the Green Gables Tea Party, that we are more talking about old stuff than about this season.
That's not particularly sad. Most of this season has been underwhelming and so we're talking about better shows. It's just the way of it.

Chihayafuru - 11

S stands for Sadist
S stands for Stalker
S stands for Superhuman hearing

DO A BARREL ROLL. :lol :lol :lol

Phi Brain 10-11:

So we're introduced to the idol Elena who's also a POG giver. She's the standard "Love and Friendship is Bullshit! I refuse to believe such things exist" villain. So of course Kaito and the others show her just how true and valuable friends are by solving her puzzles under penalty of death (and outside interference). Also totally being set up to end up with Galileo, so that he's not left to simply pine for Nonoha uselessly for the rest of the show I suppose.

This show continues to remain enjoyable for all the wrong reasons. :-P

Is Aoi Hana any good? It's by the same creator of Wandering Son so I'm hoping it's just as good.
It's good. :) However, it has a non-ending since it only partially adapted the manga which is still running. There probably won't ever be a second season. :(
What... the fuck.
Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (Ame and Yuki - The Wolf Children) is supposed to be a story about parental love. The story is about a human woman Hana, who is so magnanimous with her love she is like a fairy tale character. She takes it upon herself to bring up two wolf children as her own - Ame and Yuki (Rain and Snow). It is a fantasy masterpiece like the world has never seen because, featuring characters with both humans and wolf faces.

The anime movie is produced by Studio Roadmap, while Studio Madhouse is only in the production committee, so maybe they're assisting.

Director/Script Concept: Mamoru Hosoda
Script: Satoko Okudera
Character Design: Yoshiyuki Sadamoto
Animation Director: Takaaki Yamashita
Art Director: Hiroshi Oono

So it looks like Hosoda's new studio is confirmed, and Madhouse has another 10 nails in its coffin. Lol.

Edit: http://www.oricon.co.jp/news/movie/2004667/full/

There are much more details here. Apparently the story is a 13 year life epic about how the 19 year old Hana meets and falls in love with a Wolf Guy (hopefully not *that* Wolf Guy!) and marries him, gives birth to two kids, and raises them over the years. Crazy furry!
Damn it Hosoda, get a better script writer.
