Horizon 3-10

Woah. I had stopped watching after episode 2 because it seemed like letting some episodes build up would have been better and I guess I wasn't wrong.
I can't believe in 10 episodes Aoi has never done anything worthwhile and yet he's still an enjoyable smugdouché. I actually like how everyone else is good at fighting but him (wouldn't mind if it cane out that he has some nice ability as well tho).
The fight between Aoi's sister and Honda was lol worthy.

I thought his "debate" was worthwhile, but that was one of the highlight fights for me.

Ive never seen FMA.
Is it worth watching?

Yes it is.

And you go on about me watching haremshit like Mashiro?! lol

...

... You actually would compare Yuru Yuri and Mashiro-iro Symphony? Seriously? That's a pretty serious insult towards Yuru Yuri... :(

My haremshit > your haremshit.
If his is Mashiro-iro Symphony, then I'd probably agree. That show is pretty much unwatchably bad. (I never wrote a review, but I did eventually watch the second episode of that thing... I'd rather watch Maken-ki, honestly. It's just awful.)

Girls + instruments = K-On clone, I guess.
Yeah, that and that the character art is somewhat similar. That's more because of the studio that made it, though, and the actual characters, story, etc is very, very different.

Let's not start an A-Channel vs Yuru Yuri war. :p
What, just because you haven't yet doesn't mean you can't someday see the light, right? :)

Yuru Yuri 1

Moes being moes. I got a slightly K-ON vibe in terms of the pacing, but the characterization was definitely different. Not that I'm complaining. Kyoko and Yui are batshit hilarious, and while they're basically the same BFF team represented by Ritsu and Mio, the fact that they take on masculine character properties makes shit HILARIOUS, especially old-man-in-middleschooler's-body Kyoko. It's amusing enough for me to keep watching, let's see if they can't create the proper conflicts to keep it going. There should be enough for a one cours anime like this one...
It stays good enough that I'm definitely happy they're making a second season, I'll just put it that way -- it stays funny for sure. I just hope they keep the quality level up to the level of the first series... I know that sequels can go either way. I seem to remember someone saying they though the source material got not as good farther in, but the first anime was quite funny stuff, so I'm definitely looking forward to the second one.

I have yet to see a good Yurishit anime, however, I have seen the best haremshit anime. Why would I waste my time with what I already know is never going to live up to what I've already seen? It's like using dual analog after becoming proficient with KB&M.

Yuru Yuri 2
My God, it's glorious. The fujioshi, the tsunderes-for-each-other, the poor Student Council VP, so goofy. Hell, they even did the tittie-slap better than A-Channel. Man, what dumb shit that was...
I don't know if A-channel does much of anything better than YuruYuri... fanservice maybe? It does have more nudity, bath scenes, etc, I believe.

No, I just wanted narrative closure. It could have been done in one more episode really. It's not that I really cared who he chooses, just that he chooses, or something. Though I haven't read the light novels and don't even know if he does there.
You're right, they didn't even attempt to do an ending, and yeah, I agree that it's definitely disappointing. It's a LN adaptation, huh? I presume that the LNs didn't have an ending yet then... still, if they weren't going to make any more, they should have done something.

HxH 2011 12

The eye-catch sums up my feelings towards not only this episode but the entire 2011 adaptation. It really doesn't help that the next episodes looks like it's gonna be a fucking recap :|

YuruYuri 5

And a Comiket Comuket episode right after the beach episode? Oh dear, how will they top this one~. I enjoy their scene transitions though, like in Akari complaining about her nose itching after being a suspected secret magical girl. Akari totally missing what Chinatsu was talking about with "liking" Yui was pretty classy, though after that whole chase sequence, I feel just a bit cheated that they didn't animate the kiss.
Kyoko and Yui walking in the door in the middle totally made it worth it.

Fate/Zero 12

Not a whole lot happened this week, some clear foreshadowing with Kirei though. These episodes are neat though, its good when the show slows down on the action and steps back a bit for some character development and so on. Also (minor FSN spoilers)
I assume the house that Saber and Iri just arrived at is same one that Shiro lives in during FSN? The room storage room certainly looked like the one from FSN anyway.

Hunter x Hunter 2011 ep 11

Pillow fight scenes were hilarious. Decent episode. I really hate that the next one seems to be a clipshow flashback, do they honestly think we forgot the entire contents of the plot just 12 episodes in?!

Kyosogiga

"I don't really get it." "Me neither."
Basically. Fun to look at and listen to, but way more on the experimental side of things than anything I can recall recently.

Fate/zero 12

Setting things up for the big mid-season finale, I guess (even though apparently we're already a little into the third book). Definitely looking forward to it, and again, that winter break is going to be murder. Also, Aniplex USA, please at least consider an eventual proper domestic release... yeah right, like they'd ever do that.

YuruYuri 6
Oh, now that's just a bit disappointing. Yup, they didn't live up to the Comuket Yuri episode. They didn't even bother to acknowledge that Chinatsu totally made out with Akari last episode! Still, it was amusing enough. The next episode looks good, and I think that might be where I call it a night.

Fate/zero 12

A pretty quiet episode, but therapist Gilgamesh was entertaining. Some of those Iri/Saber scenes felt overly long though.

Fate/Zero 12
Also (minor FSN spoilers)

Yep, it's the same shed. I guess Saber drew her own summoning circle.

Working'!! ep 12

Massive improvement for Inami and Takanashi is still a clueless idiot.

Noooo!!! Only one more episode left :( :( :( Please Please Please let there be a third season.

Not only is it the same house, but if my memory isn't failing me ufotable blatantly copied some of the CGs in from the game for that scene.

Durarara!! Epilogue episode

Just what the show needs to send itself off into the sunset:
Twin girls kissing each other

Anyway, much better than the last episode. Humor, weird, kinky shit all in one package. And Erica is totally right >_>

So long Durarara!!

Ben-to 11

I hope to see the Brunette's face next ep. But for this penultimate episode, I guess it was moderately enjoyable setting things up for last but
having Heracles involved crushes any hope for a Yarizui Satou combo defeat of Othros, which I would have liked to see.

YuruYuri 7

Damn, this show is so classy. Christmas episode was great, especially when the two tsunderes-for-each-other started inadvertently feeding one another. The theater gag with Kyoko always missing was classic, without being cliched. This show seems to have alot of that. That the girls' families were mostly recognized was some fresh air in a media culture where showing the family is very rare and usually serves as some sort of plot point about how the family is abnormal. Oh, and that last scene with Akari gone catatonic was really an amazing punch-line.

Ben-to 11

Meh, this episode was pretty dull but it's obviously building up to a climactic finale. The final ep better not disappoint
it probably will :(

Pretty much. I don't know how the original novels handled things but the show has just been on a massive downward spiral starting from episode 7. Add in a final boss coming from out of nowhere at the last second and I don't see much hope in this. Maybe it would have been best if I had ignored it from the start like I originally planned too...
Also, that phone call at the end was just unbelievably stupid.

YuruYuri 8
Alright, I lied. Another solid episode. The twin sister thing was hilarious when played out wi, but I was really waiting for how they were going to pull off the sexy underwear thing. To be honest I keep getting this impression of an underlying perverseness. I mean, this show is totally innocent. This is so whitewashed, I can barely call it a yuri show. It's barely even schoolgirl lesbians, but... Well, it's just like the show really really wants to be dirty, but always stops short of following through with a more raunchy joke/scene/implication. On one level it prevents the show from devolving into lesbian fanservice wank, but on the other it prevents a certain level of resolution. That these obvious strings just dangle in the air can be kind of annoying to notice, so lets see how things go from here...

But episode 7 was awesome, as was 10.

I'll make no excuses for 8 or 9.

True, 7 was alright up until the last minute or so, and 10 at least steered the plot back to supermarket fighting, but I just don't like the twins' characters. I guess at some point my enjoyment of the show became directly proportional to how much screentime Shaga and Yarizui get, and inversely to Oshiroi, Asebi, and Shiraume.

About as likely as Madhouse and Gainax existing within the next decade.

Yeah, episode 7 and 10 were good but unfortunately the same can't be said of 8 and 9, which were pretty bad (not even yuri could save episode 9).

I'll laugh if there's no fighting in the last episode.
That would be the greatest troll since School DaysBlood-C.

Ben-to ep11
Ice witch being sick is :cajun, looks like a even bigger bad guy appears. Can't wait for the finale showdown.

lol at the Terminator sound wehn the guard appears with the battery.

Horizon 11

Well, Aoi was useful for once. Futayo saying
"yeah, since I don't have any friends!" almost proudly, followed by the remark of Aoi not sending her any ether (while he supplied everyone else) was just too funny.
Also the Pope "battle".
This show is just awesome.

Ah right, I should write some impressions

Ben-To 11

Obvious setup episode, standard tension/posturing going about, but the copious amounts of
Yaruzui sick moe
overall gives this episode my seal of approval!

YuruYuri 9

Ha! Great twist end there. I must have missed something though, because why the Student Council President is a mute sort of went over my head. Was it some drug or... eh, not really important. Next episode seems to lack Akari, so I might just call it there and watch the last two episodes tomorrow. It's fun stuff, but they seem to have left all the plot points dangling in the wind. I wonder if they'll gather them in the next episode...

In one way, I suppose, it's good that talented people are being given the time and money to experiment in animation because well, someone has to! I do feel that mixing experimental cinematography and editing with a narrative that literally tells the audience "you wont understand this" might be a little offensive to to some".

hay guys, upandaway posted something interesting over in the manga thread:

Marineford remake perhaps?
Apparently not, if you go by the initial teaser they had last month:
Fuji TV's Saturday airing of the One Piece Film Strong World anime included a teaser to announce that production on a new One Piece film has been green-lit. The teaser said, "Urgent announcement! Production on the greatest film in One Piece's history — the newest theatrical film which will surpass Strong World — has been green-lit!! The curtain now opens on the first battle in the New World arc on the final seas!!"
Though I guess the news that Oda is the director again is new.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply it was a bad thing to be experimental, but yeah, there's a difference between experimenting with a new way to tell a story vs. experimenting just for the sake of experimenting, especially when your experiment runs for half an hour.

Err, why? I don't see that happening at all. What I see happening now is that the town's wolves will rally around Orthros against Heracles who's an outsider. Orthros just want to be accepted which they probably could if that one sister wasn't a total bitch, the final episode will likely make that clear to her.

Also
sick Yarizui's hot.

Ah crap, completely forgot it was set in the New World. Oh well, new stuff is fun too. I'm definitely hopeful since Strong World is the best OP movie. I just hope this doesn't mess up the pacing in the manga again. Pretty sure Marineford was going on when Strong World was in production.

Just a note for Android people: The Crunchyroll app when on ICS is a buggy, barely functional, ugly mess. You can still watch, but landscape is forced, buttons are squashed/missing, and it takes more work than it should. This definitely isn't done.

fate/zero - 12

Fuck, this was good. Kirei is one of the more interesting characters in the show (far more so than his counterpart, Kiritsugu) and his conversation with Archer dominates the episode. The latter being coy, drawing him in, and inciting him to
betrayal
. . . so good.

Stupid sexy Archer.

d9r1Ol.jpg

Nah. She just encourages emotional attachment to the point of psychological devastation upon separation, nothing too gay. Except the one time.

The Virgin Mary is Watching Our Suspiciously Close but Essentially Chaste Relationships

Reading between the lines, it doesn't sound like there would be any drug taking, knife-throwing or bitch slapping in that show :(

Seriously, I know Yami sucked but it's not even close to the worst thing I've ever seen, I think you're being way too hard on it.

[Hirano Aya not playing Shinobu's part in Nisemonogatari (and presumably Kizumonogatari)]
This is the first thing I noticed. :'(
Well, she only played the character in that drama, so I'm not nearly as bothered as if they, say, picked a new Haruhi...

Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito Episode 8

[...]I hesitate to use the word beautiful within ten feet of this show, but savor this "painterly," like as in how I used to "paint" with crayons in grade 2, inoffensively generic background (especially YOU, Jexhius) because the show's about to fuck it up[...]

Hey now, if you had seen the lake of shining waters in motion you'd agree that it's pretty spectacular!
