Magical Witch Punie-chan

Holy Shit. Punie-chan makes Dokuro-chan look sane and reasonable.

Natsume S3 - 01

I don't get it, you've already made 2 seasons, so why make the first episode of the 3rd season what is essentially a bullet point episode of what the series is about? Surely they could have melded in the what's what for newcomers a bit more into the background.

That save sticker in my experience with other save releases is a sticker on the wrapping, and wont be on the box. The one with Sana in the red dress was the original release and has thin packs. They likely tossed the sticker onto to do the save edition with. The other one is probably a single DVD case sized package with all the disks.

Thanks.

Anyway to get the rest of the series in subtitles?

Bento 11

Nice episode, pure set up. The ending gag had me thinking of a recent Nana to Kaoru chapter.

Wow, where did this come from? Is it really getting a season 2?
Class president being a total badass. Every once in awhile this show breaks the anime norm, and this episode was one, a strong female lead not afraid to admit her feelings?

Also, Loli fanservice. Do not want.

I'm curious, did anyone else watch the Hayate movie? Without the comedy and perhaps some knowledge of the manga, it felt very flat and bog standard to me. The "serious" Hayate episodes always end up concluding the same way, after all.

Yeeeeesssssssss!
Watch more of it. Absorb the awesome into your soul.
I've watched all of it....and yet I need more ;__;

edit: apparently there were also 4 short extras made.

Turns out the dude who directed this and Dokuro-chan also did Blood-C, Azazel-san Squid Girl . . . *mind blown*

edit x2: Punie-chan Extras 1-4

oh wow the magical kingdom is basically north korea. this shit is amazing.

So my local anime group just had a holiday swap meet/exchange thing. I got rid of my unwatched Le Chevalier d'Eon set, Kenshin Tsuiokuhen DVD, and Howl's Moving Castle, and picked up a bunch of stuff in return: FMP 2nd Raid DVD set (even though I don't have original or Fumoffu), GitS 2: Innocence, Mazinkaiser, and SoulTaker. Recommendations on which of those last three are worth watching are welcome.

Oh, and even though just two days ago I said I'm not into space opera series, I somehow ended up with these:

Guess I need to find a copy of Crest of the Stars, right?

Why can't Japanese animate shit as well as Americans can when they put effort into it. I just watched Avatar in 3D, yeah I know that movie costed up to $300 million to make (nobody's really sure, due to Hollywood accounting) and required James Cameron to basically invent new technology himself to make it happen, but still. Even if Japan spent $300 million on a movie I couldn't see then animating it as well as Avatar was animated.

They could probably pull it off given the absolutely terrible wages animators are paid.

Did Uchip hack your account or something?

I was gonna say that Japanese movies don't get the same budget of Western cartoon movies but you are totally ignoring that argument so whatever.

Who are you and what have you done with Unknown Soldier?

Tamayura 11

Maon episodes are best episodes. Damn show, stop making me feel things.
I can't remember... was it Elzac who hated whistle moe?

I'm surprised that Maon ended up getting the bulk of the episodes though. But shy moe is probably the easiest problem to deal with narratively.

A better question is how do you spend $300 million on a movie and end up with a less entertaining story than Glass Fleet.

On one hand, Avatar actually looks incredible unlike Glass Fleet, on the other hand, Vetti is a better character than everyone in Avatar twice over.

I dunno, it's tough to call.

Princess Tutu 1

This show is freaking charming, hooked.

I've rarely seen a show transform from cute and charming to badass in such a seamless fashion.

Imagine Avatar with the hero and villain replaced with Cleo and Vetti. It's already ten times better, right?

Persona 4: The Cartoon 11: Pretty weak episode. It was mostly setup for the next dungeon but handled in the most boring way. Then again, I thought this portion of the game was the dullest.
Thankfully, the barrier to entry is significantly less than Utena's was (for the next few days, at least). Or if you don't mind the dub, that's all up on Hulu or Youtube.
My imouto just ordered it for me! <3
The figure is something like $90....so I don't think you will have any issues finding some takers
givers
on your offer.
May 2012. :(

. . .

Considering that $300 million would be orders of magnitude greater than anything Japan has ever spent on any kinda of a movie ever, I'm not sure why we're even humoring this.

Hmm, so . . . if any studio in Japan could spend $300M on an anime, who would we want to do it, and with what property?

Seikon no Qwaser II 11/12

Season 3 please especially since plots were unresolved? A great return to the essence of what made season 1 so intriguing
They even brought back Lizzie, Teresa, and Sword of Maria, and had Father Yuri get in on the action. I just wish they did more with Edgar and Sasha

Hearing Hana say Katja-sama never gets old, her VA.
