Persona 4: The Animation - 11://Being Yukiko's obsessed stalker may be hazardous to your health

Well, okay. They had to cover some stuff that was plot development in the game, so they pretty much did. Mitsuo gets some bonus screen time, which is fine as his role in the game was somewhat vague to begin with. Bishie Teddie appears for the first time. New girl Aika serves up the beef bowl challenge because you know they had to fit it in somewhere because of how awesome it was in the game.

Rise is <3

edit: When the hell did :cajun get his new tag?

Nah, not a tablet, an actual Evo4G. It's old and tired, but this thing has been a steady parter, still looks great in terms of design, and I don't have the money to upgrade right now, lol.

But yeah, try seeing if the app works for you on the Tuna. I was wondering if it was an issue with my alpha build, but everything else runs fine. I've heard of apps seeing ICS and defaulting to their tablet/honeycomb interfaces, even when on it's ICS on a phone, so that might be the issue.

Well, I tried the app on the Tuna, it's a no-go. It goes to the screen which says GIVE US MONEY when I poke an episode in the list but there's no button to continue to start the stream. Well, I don't watch anime on a 4" phone screen anyways, so whatever.

Mirai Nikki 11

This was somewhat dull at first but Nurse Minene was totally worth it.

bitch, please.
The only live-action Oshii film I've seen was Avalon and that was terrible.

edit: Speaking of Oshii, I was thinking of checkout out Beautiful Dreamer but I'm not sure if should watch it before I've seen the TV series. Is it okay to watch as a standalone thing?

Hmm, so . . . if any studio in Japan could spend $300M on an anime, who would we want to do it, and with what property?

Where would the 300 million dollars even go? It doesn't matter which "studio" gets the money, it's going to end up in some people's pockets anyway, and these pockets will have nothing to do with the quality of the animation or the production at large. It's a completely ridiculous concept.

Ikuhara blew his load on Utena and the Utena movie.

Pendrum is just a second weaker climax.

If you ask him for more, you'll wind up getting blood.

Don't spoil people's fantasies with your practicality!

Animators? Rent? Marketing budget? I was thinking more budget would mean higher production values, which would ideally mean more quality.

A broad attempt does call for a bigger budget, yeah, but throwing money at an issue rarely correlates with quality. If that was the case Sakaguchi would still be at SE.

Brains Base and a remake of Violinist of Hameln.

I'm not sure why this is even a question.

Clamp-Production I.G. remake of School Days of course.

This is good too.

Goldilocks. One said too much, one said too little, but I think it was just right.

Now stop breaking character!

I can't remember... was it Elzac who hated whistle moe?

I'm surprised that Maon ended up getting the bulk of the episodes though. But shy moe is probably the easiest problem to deal with narratively.

I also hate whistle moe.

Thankfully that episode was devoid of whistling, so it's all cool.

The reality is that the most expensive anime production of all time and in all possible reality in terms of just production values will probably be unable to exceed 50 million dollars. There is ultimately a limit to what you can do with the money. So you'll end up spending 250 million dollars on marketing I guess... Actually even that would be hard in Japan. There's a limit to how much you can advertise, and even if you go all out and buy a ton of TV spots at prime time, put up trailers in cinemas, buy billboards in all major locations and subways.... you would probably still have a shitload of money left over.

Oh and why would any of this make the show any better? Lol.

Edit: No actually I just thought of how you can make an anime with 300 million dollars. You can start by spending 50 million to make the actual anime. Then you cast Will Smith in the lead role, and Brad Pitt as the second lead. That should easily piss away another 50 million dollars. Then you can spend 100 million marketing the show. With the remaining money, you can probably get Hollywood composers on board, and maybe get a major pop star like Lady Gaga to sing the theme song, and spend the rest on Hollywood talent for the remaining supporting cast as well.

:firehawk. To be expected with this sort of episode, and enjoyable enough. I simply adore Kyoko, and not even in a "moe~~" way, but more of a "Haha! This is an interesting person" way. It's a good testament to the show that it can get across all this stuff without exploiting the "sexy" angle. This right here is good, honest, wholesome moe.

But there's only two more episodes, so I'm not expecting anything even slightly resembling resolution to the romantic tension that's been steadily running in the background since the start of the show. The weirdest part is, I don't think it would break the whole wholesome thing they have going. Oh well... fucking second season ruining everything...

It would be an improvement if more japan studios could use CG for more than a cheaply way to save some money (ugly CG-cars and stuff).

The Shinkai team is a good example for good using of CG stuff.

The Taisei commercial:

This is pretty impressive, especially for me as a hardcore anti-CG person.

Ok that looks beautiful, the anti cg in me can't even tell where the cg is.

Am tempted to watch a shinkai movie, despite the warnings signs my brain gives me.

So many moe emotions running. There was :cajun~, there was HNNNNNNNNNG, there was :firehawk, hell, there was even a bit of GAR in there. Such drama, such passion, such a brilliantly executed cliche, and brilliant punchline to the show, with crazed-eyed Akarin~. I know about jack shit is gonna get resolved, but if they can pull off something as glorious as this episode, then I don't care. Bring on Season 2! >:D

You know that last 35 minutes of Tokikake you hate?

Imagine an entire movie like that.

That's 5 centimeters per second.

ep 12 of yuru yuri was easily the best ep of the series

Eh, I don't know 11 was pretty glorious. That said...

YuruYuri 12

Yeah, just as I expected, almost zero resolution of romantic tension. *sigh* Oh well, no use dwelling. It was a pretty good episode. Oh so very :cajun~, especially Yui in the panda PJs, and the fujioshi going
kiss-crazy upon the consumption of chocolate like she just dropped ecstasy
was amusing enough, especially the fallout. It ALMOST brought a level of resolution to the plot later on, but again, typical bullcrap.

And poor Akari, such a buttmonkey. I will never forget her sacrifice! BRING ON SEASON 2!
I really, really, really want at least SOME relief of that romantic tension...

Manga ending for episode 11 went in a rather different direction.

. . .

damnit... :(

Well, you gotta tell me, is the whole manga like this show? Toying with my emotions and then having awesome moments to distract me while they lack any sort of yuri?

I think a Penguin Drum film remake could be quite interesting. Axe Tabuki, Yuri and Masako; change Ringo's early actions
she can still be trying to be Momoka, just not trying to sleep with Tabuki
, and focus more intently on the Takakuras and Sanetoshi, and you could cut it down to a couple of hours easily.

It wouldn't be as rich an experience but I'm sure Ikuni could come up with something entertaining on that basis.
