Speaking of clichéd work with great execution:

[Getter Robo Armageddon 1]

I've already talked about this, but I failed to emphasis the visual power of the imagery in this episode. The heavy, thick lines and angular character designs really stand out compared to most shows where the designs tend to 'blend' in with the background so everything looks flat and uniform. Here, everything is LARGER THAN LIFE. I mean, it's not really standard procedure to mix a piece of 70's hammer horror set-design in the middle of your giant robot show, but they do it here and it works, somehow:

Anyway, I have indulged in copious amounts of moe today thanks to you guys.
I'm gonna go watch my brother play Zelda Skyward Sword for a while.
You are all awesome.

The author's interpretation of a work isn't necessarily any more valid than that of anyone else. If Gen Orobuchi were to try to claim that Madoka is really about the logistics of food supply in sub-Saharan Africa, we'd rightly dismiss him as being full of shit. If the author has failed to convey what they were trying to convey, and something else is conveyed by the work as a result, then intent can be partly or wholly discounted. Etc. The author's word/intent/feelings/personal attachment to the work are not law.
Sorry if I didn't make it clear, but I wasn't referring specifically to the authors interpretation or considerations towards his own work, above all I was referring to the notion of fans appropriating of said work, deciding by themselves what it accomplished or not, and criticizing that author because of their own delusions.

The example you have put is a rightful one; sometimes you can be deceived or ignored by those creators, and it is even possible that they don't have a damn clue of why they have expressed or made something in particular (sudden inspiration, could be?). In that sense I think the ideas are like living things that spawn from you in a given moment and go on their own without you having known them well enough, and occasionally wonder why you have them, or totally forget about it.

People are constantly changing, and their ideals or perspectives change with them, but sometimes their words is all you have to understand a little bit of what they are.

I keep staring at that gif and trying to catch all the little bits of hair and whatnot that move.

I'm in the camp that believes that no artist can fully remove themselves from a work; that there's always a reflection or two, but to receive that work and draw conclusions as to an artist's state of being, even within that frame of time, isn't the smartest thing to do. In any work there's exaggerations, there's understating, and then there's complete red herrings.

Yes, yes it is.

And I agree with you (hence the "little bit" part). Uncertainty makes things (and persons) even more interesting!

Oh, I wasn't disagreeing with you, just expanding upon that a bit.
I see... well, lets just say I expanded it a tiny bit more!

On the topic of recommendations for cajunator, I'd like to help but I don't know exactly what you have seen already.

Also, sorry for the indiscretion but... is your work that much depressing to need such overdose before going to it?

SatoJun -> Working!! -> SatoJun. The voice actress seems to be able to play the impertinent young rascal really well.

Of course, the series as a whole is pat and cliche, since it's really just SatoJun replaying the greatest hits in a new setting, but he is good at what he does and it's not really a surprise that this show turned out well. You compare this to say, Croisee from last season, and you can tell that this was just better assembled as a television series.

At this point, I probably wouldn't mind if he made another one of these just because it's probably guaranteed to be good, if not great. And heck, even if it means he needs to do another paycheck show like Phi Brain, so be it.

Hey wait! the camera is cg? I hate this planet more and more!

Utena - 36

Shit just got real-ly really weird, and considering that I've already watched 35 episodes of Revolutionary Girl Utena prior, that's saying something.

Oh lord those concerts had awful CG in Nodame Cantabile, otherwise it was a cracking good show.

FINISH HIM!!!!

Right now due to the shortage of dispatchers and resultant long hours and extra days, yes it has been rather depressing. However, even when it's not I surround myself with cute things. It makes life easier for me.

Watch the live action drama. Only 11 episodes, plus some movies for the Paris and later arcs if you enjoy it. It's fantastic. Plus you get the awesome that is the casting for Stresseman.
