Fallout 4 PC Ultra screenshots

But it's true imho.
I put MGS V down after 54 hours, so repetitive.
Why in the hell would anybody spend 54 hours playing something that was repetitive? 54 hours? Really?

EDIT:
Really feel I need to add this again, it seems that I've got a long way to go before posting this becomes repetitive.

I'd argue that these screens are at least somewhere close to the same graphically. The bottom one is of course better, but it is not the leap one could hope for considering the top screenshot is seven years old, Moore's law and all.

To me It looks like the TES/Fallout team create their worlds asset by asset, from top left to bottom right, without much regard to overall texture- and geometry consistency. The result is a rather "hand made" look (in contrast to games like Watch Dogs, Far Cry 4, etc.), and I kind of like it.

The fact that everything in FO4 seems to cast shadows now is a huge leap to me.

Because if I drop it after 2 hours, people will say something like 'wait until you get to x point'.
Anyway, I barely reach episode 20 after 54 hours. I'm just bad at the game.

Really? You spent 54 hours playing a game you found repetative because of what you thought people would say if you didn't play it for 54 hours?

IQ and framerate will be the big difference. But if the engine is still as tweakable as it was with Oblivion and Skyrim, INI tweaks will result in huge improvements, particularly to draw distance. It's going to be up to the community to add detail where Bethesda skimped though.

How hard is it to make this adjustable in the menu? No excuse for a big time publisher/dev to not have that.

It looks pretty bad in comparison to its competition, I'm sure it'll be a great game to play, but at this moment in time it does not look very good. The fact that they've scaled back a bunch of features rather than improve them AND it looks as poor as it does is disappointing. I'm very much looking forward to the game, I'm very excited to play it, but let's not pretend they couldn't have done better. Especially given the fact that many(myself included) think that mods will improve the fidelity drastically whilst still keeping the mechanics the same which kind of proves the point. People whom's feelings are hurt by that shouldn't be, just because some are critical of it doesn't mean they don't love the series.

No, you don't.

From the leaked graphics settings you can adjust draw distance. People just like to push things to the extreme in the .ini

I honestly think that FO4 only competition is the next Elder Scrolls game. These games sell tons no matter what is out.

Is it really that bad if I wanted to give the game a fair impressions?
How many hours do you usually give games to give them your review/impressions?
I mean, it's supposed to be a GOTY, right? I'm just curious, is all.

Do people just ignore the whole massive weapon modding, settlement creation, and "biggest game we've ever made" when talking about this game? It's going to be the biggest and best Fallout game yet.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas were big enough. I was hoping they would overhaul the tech so that it looked good, the animations were competent, it was a decent shooter, etc. Just being bigger than Fallout 3 does absolutely nothing for me.

I wish more people were like you in their assessments :) Would severely cut down the amount of "I played this for 30 mins and it is the worst game of all realms and eons" posts that plague every OT.

All the leaked gameplay bits have shown that the gunplay is much, much improved compared to FO3/NV IMO.

Good for you. I would buy Fallout 4 in a heartbeat even if it looked exactly the same as Fallout 3 if it was FO3 but bigger with better combat and settlements.

Weapon modding was in New Vegas. Settlement creation holds zero, absolutely zero interest for me considering its never been in the series, and has been a mod in many formats already from New Vegas-->Skyrim. Which is fine, it's not for me, but doesn't mean I need to get excited for it.

If hope it's bigger, better. I want it to be. Again, I'm excited to play it. Doesn't mean I gotta slobber over everything Bethesda says I should be excited for.

Settlement creation sounds like a chore to me rather than a feature that I am excited about... just my opinion though.

I am absolutely pumped for the game and i pretty much got all the graphics complaints/discussion/curiosity out of my system

Bring on Fallout 4. Im sure ill love it and play the heck out out of it

Acceptance feels good bros. Embrace it and know the PC mod gods will give you what you want eventually anyways

The way this thread goes at times, you would think people were salivating at having weapon repairing being in the game and are devastated by it not being in. Real time Settler was fantastic in FO3 so itll be great to play that without it glitching my game every 5 minutes.

Best is debatable. Also, do you work for Bethesda? You always try to shut down any negativa comment.

Trace doesn't think it is fair to have an opinion on screenshots that I can actually see, but feels totally confident calling it the 'best' Fallout game without having played it.

Pretty much, he is an hypocrit in that sense.

Wouldn't mind working for them, they can hit me up if they want an intern that's getting into game development.
I bet they would love someone that doesn't have a negative opinion in any regard when in comes to game making decisions.

You say this like I love every decision they've made recently. Skyrim was a whole host of bad decisions, I don't like how they changed the dialog system in FO4 and I would love if the game looked like Crysis 4 and ran at 120fps. However I'm excited to play a new Fallout game because I've enjoyed playing every game Bethesda has made since Morrowind and I believe that the possible changes in FO4 outweight the negatives.

Try to see past the fanboy-ism, even if you are a fan :)

Apparently having opinions that contrast yours is tantamount to fanboyism now, huh? That's rich.

He's a dude that's excited about a video game. Some people think the game looks fine, some don't. You and a whole host of other people spouting about the game looking like shit is getting tiresome.

If you want to talk about graphical quality then let's actually have a discussion based in reality. Everyone that thinks it looks like Fallout 3 is either trolling or their eyesight is so poor that I'm shocked their able to even play video games at all. Everyone who thinks that Bethesda is one big failure because the game doesn't look like Crysis 3 doesn't understand that scale and scope play a huge role in what's prioritized when developing a game.

Some of you people are being so inflammatory in this thread and it's becoming tiresome. Take a step back and realize some people enjoy and can tolerate things that you can't.

Stop shitting up the thread with stupid bullshit.

PC brethren are you playing this comfy couch mode with a controller or kb/m?

Debating it right now. I love playing at the desktop, but my shiny new Link and Steam Controller are calling for it and working nicely. Might switch between the two.

Also, this topic is a fucking embarrassment. FO3 looks the same or better than FO4? FO4 is only worth budget prices?

You all need to get a grip on your horseshit. Its no looker, but calling it last gen and shit shows which people just have a huge axe to grind with Bethesda. There's plenty of room of criticism, and rightly so, but can we keep it in the realm of reality and not fever dream paranoia?

Ya, I've heard that before.

If they deliver well on the base building, it could be. Same size of Skyrim and such. If they had ACTUALLY delivered on the Civil War mechanics in Skyrim like they intended, then we'd be having a much different discussion.

FO4 looks a lot better, but the biggest upgrade over FO3 seems to be color, followed by tree and grass density. With the right mods installed the difference is probably rather negligible.
Just to give a list of the improvements,
-polycount
-DOF implementation
-animation
-secondary animation
-lighting

One scene is much more complex than the other one, and wouldn't be able to run properly if at all compared to the other scene. This is all in the vanilla versions of the game. GTAV isn't a big improvement compared to GTAIV because it has mods, that's the logic you're using. FO4 will also receive graphical mods.

Being skeptical of Bethesda isn't some wacky irrational thing. The last 2 Fallout games and Skyrim had massive technical problems. Looking through the media for Fallout 4, it's pretty obvious that it still looks bad in a lot of the same ways the other Fallout games looked bad, and I don't see how bolting new things onto their Frankenengine inspires any confidence that this one won't be totally buggy, too.

You forgot dog on fire. I kid, I kid :) To be fair, the animation is still pretty bad per the videos.
