New to the series and wanted to know if the DVD's are worth the scratch. Good show BTW ( I have only seen the Death one though). Except for Peter who has balls for a chin.
While I enjoy the show, I've seen all episodes over and over again so many times thanks to Cartoon Network and TBS that I just can't ever see myself sitting down going "ya know, I think it's time for a Family Guy marathon". It's like Seinfeld, yeah, I was a fan, but I have no interest to get it on DVD just because I've seen all the episodes so many times just through casual (obsessive) TV watching.

In some ways it's nice buying them knowing that there's a sense of completeness. I know there are new episodes now, but when I got them that looked like it was it for the show. It made it easier to just splooge on them all.
Whereas with the Simpsons I've still only got the second series. It's somewhat daunting thinking of getting the complete set, not just the monetary investment required but the time as well to fully watch them all.
I think I have that with all shows that started before DVDs came along. Whenever the next FG series comes along it'll be easier to add that in and carry on happy, rather than buying 3 series, then thinking but I've still got 4 more and that's if they don't release anymore before I get round to getting them. I love Frasier but even if all series were available, it'd still be lower on my priorities of things to get.
Nope, not really. Hardly any commentaries and it's already on TV all the time. Just watch it on AdultSwim or TIVO it.
Apparently they recorded commentaries for all episodes, but only used a handful of them. They are already starting to double dip with stuff like the "Freakin' Sweet" DVD collection, and I suspect that within a year they will have PROPER discs out with all the commentaries (provided that the new series does well). Don't buy it unless you don't mind the idea of getting burned on a double dip possibility.
yeah, i love the show, but i really can't justify investing in a DVD set of a show thats still on pretty regularly, between Adult Swim and TBS (and now FOx again).
