Micheal would be a better guardian angel.
Lucifer was only good at music.

So will it be the first Western developed game that has horrible translation?

looks pretty, but really quite a waste that the game is not for console ...

On Quintet's use of the Christian Mythos
Actraiser 1, has a few brilliant moments, particularly the ending sequence which basically indulges Nietzschean nihilism while still presuming there's a God ("How would God feel if he found out he was dead to the people?").
Actraiser 2 is really excellent for this though. Both thematically and visually, although this is dumbed down in the US translation, Actraiser 2 visits the seven deadly sins. There's some really cool angles here, especially the Tower of Babel level. But by far the coolest part is that the end sequence is basically a compressed version of Dante's trip through hell, right down to fighting Satan at the frozen lake.
Many of the other Quintet games have general good versus evil / angel versus demon themes and of course the Tower of Babel motif is used in Illusion of Gaia, but both Actraiser games are really where it's at.
viciouskillersquirrel said:Just so you guys are aware, El Shaddai is one of the seven Old Testament names for God (roughly translates as God Almighty). The Metatron was the angel God suggested to send with Moses and the Hebrews into the promised land until Moses begged that God himself go with them.
The Metatron itself is a very powerful angel with "the name of God in it" (references an ancient belief that the names of things gave them power) which basically makes it a proxy or avatar of God.
Anyway, if previous RPGs' treatments of Abrahamic themes/mythology are anything to go by, the final boss will probably be God himself.

Only students of the Bible will know Enoch. Mentioned only once in the old testament but famous. For he was known to walk so close to God in all his life that he did not die, but was instead taken up when his time came.ULTROS! said:Enoc (Enoch) is also a biblical/Hebrew name. His name means "initiated, dedicated, disciplined".

Metatron acts as the voice of God. Any documented occasion when some yahoo claims God has spoken to them, they're speaking to me. Or they're talking to themselves.
