Famitsu #866

I have a question not about this week 's Famitsu. It'a about and old number. I konw that Densha de Go Pocket Yamanote for PSP was announced in the number 864 of Famitsu Magazine but i don't know if in this number was any picture of the game. I want to ask if someone who have this number can search it and scan the page. I'm a freak of this Taito series ^__^.

I have #864 but it's only in the "New Soft Schedule" section (page 185). I haven't found any pictures of Densha de Go Pocket Yamanote in that issue.

I read the scans. The text really isn't informative as it seems like Famitsu just got the shots and basic info so their making random comments "CAN THE MAIN GUY NOT USE MAGIC? WE ONLY SEE SWORD ATTACKS IN THESE PICS!".

But it the text does seem to imply it's still a turn-based battle system. Though it says they are aiming for more of an action feel to it.

Apparently the new Sega Ages series will not longer be done by D3 Publishers, and will be developed by Sega themselves.

Hopefully this will improve the quality.... :-D

Yeah, I was pretty impressed by the screens in the mag actually. They actually look like the original games for a change.

Yum. Any scans of them yet?
Soon, I'll do it at lunchtime.
Basically there's a new guy in charge of the series from vol.20 and all the development will be handled internally. Panzer Dragoon actually looks like a straight port. The games shown will be released up to and including next spring. I'll scan later so you can see.

There's some pics of Densha de Go Pocket: Yamanote version in this week :)
Gundam MahJong DS looks fantastic - gonna get rid of my Yakuman DS, I think.
New Space Invader game for PSP looks ok too. Ah, so much to scan...

What volume is Dragon Force?

Well you were saying something about a European setting so I was like,"Story info plz"

Not European. 1920 Taisho Era Japan. Pretty close to SH2's 1916 Taisho Era Japan setting.

- Gunstar Heroes Treasure Box (incl. Gunstar Heroes, Alien Soldier, Dynamite Heddy)

Whoo! But will that include all the versions, or just MD ROMs? And yeah, releasing this to PS2 only wouldn't make sense when it's Nintendo's portable that's getting the sequel... (and it already got the prequel, technically).

The screenshot from the GBA Puyo Puyo Gundam looks great. Though I don't know why are the characters are screaming ^^;

Mini-pato game could be cool; I'm glad the style seems identical to the anime.

Hello I just read on a japanese web that in that number of Famitsu it´s included the top 100 best sellers for this first six months of the year. When someone have this number can scan the pages with this information.

Typing now... it may take a while ;)

Does anyone with knowledge of Kanji know if the main character's name and subtitle of the game is Kuzuha Raidou or Kuzunoha Raidou? IGN is saying the latter (not that they are that trustworthy ;)) But I was just curious due to the Devil Summoner reference of Kuzunoha ;) Thanks!

It's the latter - Kuzunoha. I don't have any knowledge of the series so I didn't realise it's the main character's name.

so it seems Raidou Kuzunoha XIV is the ancestor of Kyouji Kuzunoha from Devil Summoner 1 :) Pretty neat :D BTW do we happen to know the name of the guy in the top hat and orange/red suit? or if that cat is talking in that one scan o.o? If you look at the scan with Raidou in all the town scenes talking with people you can see his cat (which looks similar to the cat from Digital Devil Saga lol) following him around so it seems to be his partner or familiar or something to that effect of sorts. Pretty cool, can't wait for more info and scans and eventually trailers in the future, going to be amazing I'm sure :D

Are we getting any media create numbers today?
Doesn't look like it. There's Dengeki and Enterbrain floating around, but they vary by quite a bit. None of the big new hits sold over 100k, worryingly.

You got a most wanted list?
Couple of new entries, Winning Eleven 9 (#23) and Pokemon XD (#28). Other than that, everything's same old same old.

wow Jonnyram, did you type all that in!!!?

...3rd party games seem to be performing pretty evenly across GBA, DS & PSP depending on the strentgh of the IP. Actually, they all remind me of GC 3rd party sales a bit.

Speaking of Devil Summoner, I was reading the interview with Kaneko (this game his creation, he thought up the plot and is the art director) on the main webpage for it and he said he created Devil Summoner Raidou because in the current gloomy depressing Japan where the economy is terrible he wanted to make a cheerful upbeat motivational feel-good game. He wants players who are playing Raidou to walk away from the game feeling better about themselves and their lives.

I dunno, I found that kinda of shocking and unexpected coming from the dark depressing SMT/DDS world. If he's telling the truth it'll be interesting to see what a cool looking Megaten game with a postive outlook looks like.

So are they going to try to blend that with the normal dark nature of the series? I'd like to see that more than something that completely upbeat.

Yea, I think the vibe he's going for is that there is this world that's endanger because of all the dark demon megaten entities but this guy is going to be a ghostbuster and rise up, save everyone, and keep the peace. I mean you can tell from the designs it'll still have the same dark edgy worldview stuff, but it just seems like he wants a happy game as opposed to a depressing game.

Does anyone know if Red/Orange top hat and suit wearing character has a name yet? Also if anyone can fix the new famitsu scans #1, 2, and 5 links because imageshack is not letting anyone view them :(

Thanks for the feedback Bebpo :) Now all the new DS: KR Famitsu scans provided by MaskedRider work :D They are amazing :) Thanks so much!
