and yes, it seems to be FF12 will be delayed again

If true...

Sakurai returning for Smash Brothers is wonderful news! I'm surprised Nintendo is still in touch with him. Nintendo of 5 years ago would have nothing to do with a developer who left their company

To be fair on SE (on square especially), they have been through some major company restructuring.

Understandable, but I don't see many around here giving Rare such breaks.

OK some good news here
if I am right, Sakurai mentions that he has involved and already started the Smash Bros for Revolution
He will be the director and designer

Sakurai column in Famitsu
OMG!!! YAY!!! ^5 Sakurai, you made the right decision.

I guess he decided it was okay to return since the Revolution plays so dramatically different. :) Now I'm more confident that it'll turn out well. :D

I think it has more to do with the fact that Iwata (who did work with Sakurai at HAL before becoming an executive at Nintendo) put in the effort to get communication between him and Sakurai running. As someone said, that's not something the Nintendo of old would do for a developer who left them...

I personally don't mind the delay as long as the game is awesome. Probably they are tightening up the gameplay?

Animal Crossing should boost DS hardware sales similar to how Nintendogs, Kirby and Jump Superstars did.

i.e. 90k+ for that week is possible.

Animal Crossing was made for online gaming and for the DS stylus/touchscreen.
You can expect a 100K+ factor for several weeks. Had it been released in august I wouldn't have said that but christmas is coming. And this has more potential than any other DS game already released in japan.

Indeed 90k+ units sold, knowing that Pokemon is released a week earlier seems like a very low prediction. I´d go as far as saying we will see 150k that week.

seriously, WTF is wrong with SE??? they have made me wait half a decade for FFXII. and they just recently announced a japan release date and threw out a playable demo... now, they are going to delay it again????!!!!11!1!11 what happened???? the whole FFXII team just left SE?

While the bolded statement is not entirely true at this very moment, it will soon be. :D

Hey, if duckroll says it, it MUST be true! :D

Many key members of the team have already left. Both composers are freelancers now, the art director is going freelance, Matsuno's status as a Square Enix employee is pretty unknown, and if Matsuno really LEAVES Square, be assured that Yoshida is going with him.

Who knows what's REALLY going on in the Production Studio 4 offices these days... maybe they just read GAF and laugh at everyone assuming the game is even ever coming out. :lol

Is Hideo Minaba going freelance or to Mist Walker? He's working on something for MW, right (ASH?)?

2 things to contribute:

A- Holy shiznit on AC! Nintendo ftw! hahaha.

B- Sakurai on Smash Revolution is HUGE news. My fears on what direction the series would take are gone. The man knows his baby and it rests in good hands.

He went freelance and started a studio called Design Nation. Both Design Nation and Smile Please (Uematsu) are working closely with Mistwalker.
