Today (March 15, 2025), the winners of the "Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2024" by KADOKAWA Game Linkage will be announced on the YouTube channel "Famitsu TUBE" via live streaming.

The "Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2024" is one of Japan's largest user-voted game awards, where game fans vote to select the best games of 2024. Game fans vote to select games, people, production studios, etc. that have made a significant contribution to the development of the game industry. The awards will be selected in 16 categories, including the grand prize "Game of the Year."

In addition to the grand prizes in each category, the program will also announce the winners of the "Famitsu Dengeki Special Award," which selects and honors content that has made a significant contribution to the excitement of the game industry in 2024 by "Famitsu" and "Dengeki Game."

The host of the live streaming program will be voice actress Ruriko Aoki, who is also known as a core game fan. After the program, Famitsu and Dengeki Online editors and writers, as well as KADOKAWA Game Linkage staff, will be broadcasting a talk show called "My Favorite Games 2024," where they will talk passionately about their favorite games, so don't miss that either.

Famitsu.com will be reporting the results of the "Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2024" in detail, so please look forward to it.

The awards show is still ongoing, so I'll continue updating the OP with the results as they come in.

Good to see Rise of the Ronin getting some love. Performance aside, NPC pop is atrocious, it's a goty contender.
I bought two games last Sony promo .. Jedi Survivor and Rise of the Ronin ... both single players with asscreed open world elements.... I started with survivor and fcking hell whay an awful souless experience... I was pissed, did a whole thread here about it ... and than gave up and started RotR ... whole shit what a difference... yes it has technical issues (playing at the pro) but the game is awsome and has a lot of heart, the ass creed fornula eventually gets tyring as usual but as long as you go forward you can finish the story and try the side shit whenever you want... definitely a goty contender for me. Japan is really kicking ass this gen.

WTF? This shit is fucking rigged.

The lighting and pop in, not to mention textures in FF7R2 is often fucking awful. This did not get fixed in the Pro update and it did not get fixed on PC. The cutscenes can look fantastic. There were genuinely times that I wasn't sure if I was looking at pre-rendered cutscenes or in game cinematics. But gameplay? God damn it's a mixed bag.

Close enough,

Best three last year were Space Marine 2, Rebirth, and Stellar Blade.

Space Marine 2 is the best game overall but wouldn't mind either of the other two winning either.

This texture shit better get fixed for part 3, it's been two games now one linear and one open world both had the same problems.

Stellar blade should had won rookie category or graphics. Oh well, its a Japanese awards so might prioritize giving the awards to Japan development games.
