No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.

Stellar Blade for characters? I've never heard anyone praise their characters aside from the main character and what clothes she's wearing, lmao.

The one thing Eve lacks is an actual personality. GAF is a gooner forum though, so don't expect people to put currency into well-written characters. Silent Hill 2 or Indiana Jones should have won this.

Some questionable picks, but glad Rebirth is getting some recognition. Snub of the year by far because most publications can't remember anything they played more than 6 months prior.

Get mad. AstroBot's aesthetics, art direction, physics, and tech are extremely pleasing and smooth. It's the next gen Mario game everyone has waited on but will likely never get. There's more to visuals than just pushing tech. Let's not lose sight of that fact. I could see a Nintendo game winning best visuals too, in the future.

Great list, although it's certainly surprising to me seeing Indiana Jones THAT high.

I'm getting the game in a few months but it didn't seem prominently featured in many top 3 lists, and it seems like a decent game just nowhere near #2 worthy - maybe I'm wrong when I play it, just seems like a certain audience heavily spammed that one, unsurprisingly....

Astro winning visuals shows how spammed this list is let’s get real lol.

Best art style maybe if you want that? Best visuals, not even top 3.

Nice going people... I was afraid that FFVII Rebirth wouldn't win the best rpg category.

Erdtree on second place was also a solid choice.

However, for me, the ideal third place would be Rise of The Ronin or Unicorn Overlord, since I hated Refantazio.

But regardless, good picks overall.

It’s a popularity contest and few played Senua’s Saga. Where would the votes come from? It wasn’t there for voice either but was objectively at the top and awarded at TGA with just the late and abnormally good Indiana Jones topping it.

That said, I think a PC specific GOTY contest would be a good idea going forward.

Would solve some of the weirder category wins where console games are there just because not as many here play on PC. I absolutely agree on Astro Bot, loved it and got my platinum but best visuals? nah come on

A specific PC GOTY would also give late PC ports a chance to shine. And some less popular ones here not available on console.

Topher Topher What say you?

Minishoot Adventures was one of my absolute top games last year but would never have a chance in these awards since too few have played it. Only on PC and indie means it barely exist in this bubble, made by two guys, absolute top game. It’s a bullet hell Zelda twin-stick shooter, try it if you haven’t already 👍

Sorry, no. We do this on our own time and conducting a second contest for a single platform is just not feasible.

Hmm okay but what if PC could have a separate Best on PC vote category? No genres, just best. I believe there was something like that for VR previously. Or maybe it was just my imagination.
Anyhow I just feel like the award is less interesting when games can’t realistically pull in enough votes even as 11/10 games from platform size differences.

Doable. Not entirely up to me, but we have had category change suggestions by others as well. I'll create a thread later where it can be discussed.

Man, now I really want to try out Indiana Jones. I don't know when it's coming to PS5 so I'm actually shocked that I'm contemplating getting Game Pass for a month and turning my laptop into an Xbox. What a crazy time to be alive.

How do you define best visuals tho? Something shouldn't automatically win because it's photorealistic.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

It's a pretty good game.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Nintendo is the real loser here. Even Xbox had more awards.
Nintendo's 1st party line up in 2024 was a bit shit. We had what? Another Code (remaster), Thousand Year Door (remaster), Luigi's Mansion 2 (remaster), Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (remaster)... um... Princess Peach Showtime? World Championship NES Edition?

Honestly, Echoes of Wisdom was great and high on my list. Brothership was also okay but very mid.

To clarify the "visuals" category, the actual name of the category was "Best Visual Style". I think some are misinterpreting this as "best graphics".

I see you are one of them that spammed Astro Bot in every category 😂

How is it an adventure game? It almost stopped Indiana Jones from taking that category.

Visual style in Astro is also weakest among all recent big platformers. Its too clean and bland.

"Every category" and yet somehow you missed that I didn't vote for Astro Bot as GOTY. Somehow you also missed that Astro Bot won Best Action/Adventure at the VGAs as well so not sure why you are confused.

So let's see your votes.
