SCOOP:

Tekken Dark Resurrection PSP
53x7v199334jy.jpg

The producer says: "I am glad to offer the perfection of a fighting game in a matter where the player can play where and when he pleases on the PSP."

- Time attack, Practice and Minigame modes included.
- Brand new scenes added to the Arcade Opening Movie.
- Ad-hoc multiplayer.
- More items added.

There are Ghost Characters in the PSP version, maybe it's the same as 5.0? (?)
It's not Tekken FIVE Dark Resurrection, it seems it's just "Tekken DR" whatever that means. :D

LOL...quite the battle between you and Jonnyram :D

Don't get excited about Bomberman.
Did you guys forget the TGS 360 trailer reel?
It's called Bomberman: Act Zero and it looks totally weird and un-Bomberman like.

Having said that, perhaps they'll include the original Bomberman game, or maybe release it on XBLA like it deserves.

Man, they should just release Saturn 10 player Bomberman on XBLA with online play for $10.

But I guess no one would ever buy another Bomberman game after that point and they'd lose money in the end :(

I heard it was actually a collection of every Bomberman title - centering around a Live enabled version of Hi-Ten Bomberman.

I heard this in my mind :-(

That was my first thought. But if this is a solid Bomberman game with Live that'll be pretty sweet.

There's going to be a BIG PSP push in Japan this summer.
Well I don't really know or care about that, though big console franchises don't seem to be doing well on PSP. But I was just hoping this could be TTT2 instead of a port. I already have all the console Tekkens and by the time it came out I'd have a PSP since I'm buying one when the real MGS game comes out.

SolidSnakex said:
Let them save TTT2 for the PS3. I'm hoping Tekken PSP turns out to be T5DR.
I think T5DR has more of a chance of coming out on PS3 with upgraded graphics instead.

Really good scores all around.

BK2, Monster Kingdom, and Disgaea 2 all score above the FAMITSU RPG 32 while Suikoden V lands in it.

Ibara gets low scores like every goddamn time a shmup is scored in Famitsu...lame.

I have a feeling though that the Monster Kingdom score could very well be a result of Sony $$$ pushing their first big original PSP rpg.

Wow, excellent score for Baten Kaitos 2, Monster Kingdom, and Disgaea 2 (though I still don't like N1 games). I'm definitely looking forward to BK2, and hope America gets Monster Kingdom.

Suikoden 5's score is nice. Damn that 7, though.

Crikey, those are screwy scores. Underrate a shooter, overrate Shadow the Hedgehog(thats what it is, right?), a good score goes to Samurai Champloo, which last I checked, wasn't looking so hot, and the rest I just don't get.

What the heck?

You're mistaken.
Good shmups, like Gradius V, Ikaruga, etc. get good scores.
But generic anime zillion bullet vert scrollers don't do so well.

Champloo may be a case of AWESOME gameplay mixed with REALLY BAD GFX. I wasn't interested in it much until learning that Grasshopper seems fully responsible for it's development. A Champloo game with Killer 7 level of style and unique gameplay could totally work.

Ibara scores are bullshit because Famitsu gives every Cave shooter those scores.

Honestly, I love you man but sometimes I want to smack you :P

GAMES WITH BIG STUDIO BACKING OR TREASURE GAMES BECAUSE FAMITSU ARE TREASURE WHORES = good scores like Gradius Ikaruga.

Good shmups = bad scores like every Cave game. Seriously Jonnyram, this isn't "small niche group likes Cave", it's pretty much fact if you take a look around the web that Cave shmups are basically the best shmups in the entire industry. Go buy Dodonpachi Daioujou and give it some real effort, I'm pretty sure you'll find it to be the best shmup you've ever played :)

I really like Gradius V, but Dodon and Espgaluda kick the crap out of it :P

Bebpo, now you're just shooting your mouth off for no reason.
I've been a shmup fan all my life - Gradius and R-Type were my childhood sweethearts. But I have never ever given a shit about Cave shmups. They do nothing for me at all.

It has nothing to do with Treasure, but I'd say that Treasure have a following for a reason, and Cave shmups get average scores for a reason. I'm not following trends either way though. For the record, I don't like RSG. I had Dodonpachi and Espgaluda and sold them both :P Gradius V, R-Type Final and Psyvariar are the only PS2 shmups that remain in my collection.

Thats a lot of PSP titles released/reviewed. Too bad most got crap scores.

MK:JS got a good score though, the title sounded interesting last time I read about it. No/low loadtimes apparently.

Ikaruga/Graidus 5 are simply better than any Cave game i've played, and i like Cave games. Sorry man.

I don't like Famitsu's scoring either, but saying that Treasure whorism is the reason that Ikaruga/Gradius scored high ? you are on some good smoking.

Jonny, remind me to slap you for not liking RSG.

"it's pretty much fact if you take a look around the web that Cave shmups are basically the best shmups in the entire industry."

how can opinion be fact!?

Ok, so you don't like Cave shmups. That's perfectly cool and fine. But you should acknowledge that Cave shooters have almost as much of a following as Treasure games. I mean outside of Famitsu all you'll ever see is praise and high scores for Cave shooters. If you don't like them, fine. But objectively looking at it, those games are the best of the genre and from a real quality review magazine they should be getting scores that show that. But of course Famitsu is far from quality :P

Ok, I guess it's not a fact, fine. But when 9/10 people rank Cave shooters higher than Treasure shooters it tends to show that maybe, just maybe, even though they aren't as shiny and accessible, they're still better games.

Cross reviews are made up of four people with different gaming tastes and backgrounds. The fact that it didn't score below a 6 from a single person at least means it is accessible to non shmup fans, and that's worth crediting. I don't agree they should mark it according to how the hardcore shmup community would like it though.

Hey, 9/10 people rank the DS higher than the PSP too! :lol

Now i'm interested in this. Anyone played it yet? When's the release date in Japan?

... where are these 9/10 stats coming from!? ;)

Again, I LIKE Cave games - , but i STILL prefer Ikaruga and Gradius. *shrug* maybe i'm the 1 in 10.

My own personal feeling is that people who are rating Cave games highly are the people who are basically starved of shooters - i mean, other than Cave games, we've got Shikami and Psyvaria in the arcades right? There's not much to choose from.

I'm not saying they are crap - far from it - but i can understand why Famitsu don't go gaga over them - for the later reason you posted rather than the first : they aren't that accessible.
