Info and introduction about Revolution that almost all we have already known
but Famitsu figure out that something interesting
Nintendo has 221 own titles on NES/SNES/N64/GC
so there are 221 games allowed to be downloaded only by Nintendo itself (in Japan)
and it uses Final Fantasy 5 pic to say it is possible to play other companies' old games through Revolution

http://ranobe.com/up/updata/up40447.jpg
the most 3 hardwares that get the readers' interest this week:
1) Revolution 226pts
2) PS3 183 pts
3) Xbox360 117pts

It's the airborne screenies that do it for me. If I can't have another Sky Odyssey, I'll take biplane action any place I can get it.

Hmmm...USB Adapter to transmit a wireless signal for the DS? How does this work? Does it basically work as router of sorts? I know that I'll be without wireless internet 8 months out of the year over the next couple of years and any sort of DS/Rev specific Wireless solution would be fantastic, since we're not allowed routers in residence.

Or, I could be confusing this with some miracle product that doesn't exist.

Thanks a lot neo!

If Square Enix is on board the download service then it's going to be pretty big. I'm a bit doubtful though since SE is behind in getting older content out for portables.

WCW Revenge, and WWF No Mercy please, I beg of you!!

this is HOT

thank god for japanese devs

can someone post those two images associated to the revolution article? i can't save as, and the link says forbidden

Grandia III is FORCING me to like it. Has there been any word of a US release yet? Between it and FFXII I probably won't need a game for the X360 or the PS3 for a while :lol

Definately gonna pull out the Dreamcast and play through the second game again!

So, do Japanese developers read Famistu? The way the voting goes now it's:

Revolution 43%
PS3 35%
XBox 360 22%

I really can hardly believe what I'm seeing. Is it possible this download feature will thrust Nintendo back to #1?

Haven't Famitsu most wanted lists often been rather skewed from reality as far as sales go? I remember plenty of games that showed up at the top of the most wanted lists that didn't really do so hot sales wise.

Liar.

A postage stamp is 1.4 inches diagnol. The micro is 2 inches. I checked. You lied.

I find that poll amazingly positive for the Xbox 360.

Imagine 30 million consoles or whatever. That's 6.6 million consoles for Microsoft, a great increase from this generation. Of course, I'm sure Nintendo is going to sell the least in Europe and North America.

If GA was any indication about how the industry works, GCN would be near as successful as PS2, Kirby would be a killer app (after 60 hours of gameplay) and Super GT would have dethroned Gran Turismo.
You see the point. The same with Famitsu.

Atleast in Japan, I think that the ps3 wont be anywhere as dominating in Japan as they were this gen as the size issue(it's bigger than the Xbox :0). All that matters now is where the devs are going, and that will decide the fate of the consoles there.

Those people who voted 360 were just being polite.

I don't see the X360 improving much of a situation there...Probably both Nintendo and Sony will be the ones to eat the entire cake.

If MS doesn't do anything more next generation, Sony has the whole cake. Without third party exclusives, Nintendo is as dead in Japan at launch as they are right now. (with the GCN)

I don't see Nintendo dead in Japan. Each title they pull does good numbers and the GC sales are pretty good considering the total lack of releases :P
Trust me. When the japanese knew of a way of playing old games NOW, they'll run to the shop for a revolution. (like if Emulators for PC haven't existed ever)

Even if Revolution has a shitty 3rd party support...Hell, even if the games Nintendo pulls are shit, it will sell just because the retro factor. Look at the Famicom Mini titles and their success for further proof.

I know it sounds stupid. But for a society that has been always out of the piracy/scene factors (as a mainstream group), this is pretty normal.
In Japan gaming is much more social than here, which means that your 40 year old fisher plays videogames and he doesn't give a crap about downloading an emu and the rom he wants or having Emule/Kazza/BT just to download some ISO that he will have to burn later. He just goes to the store and buys the game he wants.
It's pretty different in EU/US where gamers are mostly young people.

Yes, the Famicom Mini is a very good indicator of how well Revolution's download content will fare, especially if the prices are much lower. Add to that, the N64 and GC never really took off too much in Japan so this is a Japanese gamer's chance to get software for those systems in a small package to boot.

Do you know something we don't?
Nope. I just think a simple little poll in Famitsu has little bearing on what'll actually happen once the systems are all out. It's kind of silly to get all excited about it.

Well, interest for Revoltuion can only go higher once Nintendo tells us what the &*% the "Revolution" is all about.

Well, yes. I have a feeling Nintendo's going to go all out with the Revolution in Japan. It's the territory they've made a lot of judgements. If the controller gets Japanese developers and consumers excited in the same as the DS, then Nintendo will do very well.

Hmm... is it just me? Those Goemon DS, Sengoku Basara, and Grandia III scans links doesn't work... 404 error...
