I don't have a problem with rap elitests because they always like great hip hop that has some thought and obvious talent put into it. I don't think I'd call myself a rap elitest, I just enjoy the best hip hop has to offer. This CD should appeal to any fan of hip hop, elitest or not. I honestly don't understand how someone couldn't dig this.

Street Disciple (Nas) should be fire... It damn well better be, cuz God's Son raised the bar a bit.

For now I'll take my ignorrant rap...

Don't forget about Lost Tapes 2

Yes. 'Nerd hip-hop'.
Look there all forms of Hip-Hop. It's just that I can't appreciate most backpacker/nerd hip-hop save from Kool Keith, Del at times etc.
If anything I appreciate a lyricist with a message rather than any sub-genre within Hip-Hop.

Also when was Nas and Common considered gangsta rap?

Off the sole word of some random guy on the Internet?
Well- I don't believe you, you need more people.

Look man, he's trying to recommend something to you. If you don't want to listen to his advice, what the fuck are you arguing with him for? Or is being an asshole on the intarweb more fun than hearing dope beats?

I don't know about the whole album, but two songs on it are fucking heat: one produced by El-P, another by MF Doom.

If that doesn't interest you, then go listen to what you like. But no need to just come in and be a dick. We have people like DCB that have that position taken care of.

Me, be a dick?

Who's the one who presumed I was some surburban teenage 'whigger' who listened to the likes of Tupac, 50 cent etc only.

Exactly. Get your facts straight.

Don't forget about Lost Tapes 2

Lost Tapes 2 looks to be a let down. Unless your 'Nas' folder has tumble weeds in it, any Nas fan should have at least 75% of the tracks already...

That second sentence was directed toward iced lightning, not St Cornelius.
Who's strangely disappeared.....

Also:
Calm down? I don't need to calm down.
You have to stop trying to be Captain Planet.

Not you. Iced lightining.

Captain Planet? That's hot. Can I use that?
Yes, you may.

Seriously who are you to tell me, what to think and write?
Which threads I should enter and post in.
I don't seem to remember anybody complaining when people put their favourite underground artists in a thread about club bangers.
What's the difference?

Check it, agreeing with you it's the shit.
See this a post that I'd be inclined to believe. No some smartass who presumes I only listen to gangsta rap.

No, but Del is awesome. Trust me, this album is really really good. The lyrics and music are top-notch.

Are you talking about 11th Hour? Either STFU or give us proof you've heard it.

Is anyone still looking forward to Kweli's new joint at all? Kweli catches a lot of hate from the internet hip-hop fans lately...And I really don't understand why. Yes, he's not that great live, but Quality had some really good tracks on it.

"Put it in the air" is still just as good as the first time i heard it.

"All the Lonely People" looks like it's not going to make it on the new album (for obvious reasons....i mean it would cost a ton to get the rights), which sucks because a song like that could really launch Talib.

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.

The Roots, LA Symphony, Guru's Jazzamataz series (not all good, but some bangers)

plenty more though, it's not all that uncommon nowadays, even for DaCocoBrova rap.

Poody

What program do you use to photoshop a picture?

I've been to his concerts and they were great.

This is true but I didn't want to overwhelm the guy. :)

actually, reading again, I'm not sure if it was a serious question or he was attempting to mock rap in general.

WHAT? That was the best song on the CD!!!! Thank god for "leaks", because I would have never heard it otherwise.

Lord knows I am. But I think the "hate" stems from the fact that Reflection Eternal and Black Star were such great albums. Quality was OKAY, nothing great. But the Mix CD was awesome. I can not WAIT for Beautiful Struggle
