This better be good, I dont dl much anime anymore

Well I really hope you like it. It's definitely something different from the norm, and extra points for it if you enjoyed Xenogears (the story, not the gameplay).

Just to echo, Fantastic Children ep24 = EXCELLENT :D

Best show this year. The direction is very much not done according to the usual anime style. Feels more like a live-action film which combined with the score gives it a very cinematic style :)

19-22 were awesome. Bandai better get to releasing the DVDs. Those bastards had the rights before FC even aired!

Thoma is obviously soran. Can't wait to see him go super saiyan and reborn with white hair. :lol

His love for Tina must've somehow guided his soul to her. Helga said she's waiting for soran and that to her tina is dead, interesting that he's showing just now that things are heating up.

Well they always alluded to something with
Thoma's weird dreams and the fallen soldier in them

Anyways, good show.

Man, I figured out that
Gherta was Mel
a long time ago. But now,
I'm wondering about Paruza. He's apparently still alive, as we can see from his body. It seems to me that the only person he could possibly be is Cooks, though there hasn't really been a whole lot that has linked Cooks specifically to either Paruza or Mel at this point. But he's pretty much the only other major male character, and he just so happens to be right where it seems hell is about to break loose, so it doesn't seem like there are many other options.

Also, assuming Thoma is Soran, doesn't it seem like it would make sense for Sesu to be around somewhere too? Maybe he's Chitto (it would be very odd, but it would make sense in a way being that he was the one watching over Helga first before Thoma got himself involved).

:lol @ all the people following the subs!

Anyway since the show ended a long time ago for me, I'll just ring in to say that some of you are right, most of you are wrong and the ending rocks. :D

OMG! I just saw ep 24! wowowowowow!
That was totally unexpected! I was pretty damn sure Thoma is Soran but that took me totally by surprise! I'm still in shock...Thoma is Sesu!?!?!?!
Damn awesome show.

Awesome way to end an episode...
Thoma completely flipping the fuck out, and that last awesome shot of Dumas descending with Helga.

We need 25 and 26 RIGHT NOW.

I really thought Thoma was Soran too. BTW, why didn't Gherta's hair turn white after she remembered? Is it cos she's old now?? And I guess Cooks is Paruza.

Man, what a great anime :D

Wow, Grave of the Fireflies ending. Great show, totally awesome episode in all.

Please do NOT read before watching it, for your own sake.

Love how Sesu met up with Tina later in life. They didn't really know how they knew eachother but the power of love provails. :) Like how Soran actually stood aside and let Sesu get a chance to meet Tina. Also the whole live happily ever after feel of the ep was just perfect, got a lump in my throat a couple of times. :D

Soran met Tina 10 years later, you mean. :D

Anyway, it was a great series. Only one thing really bothers me, though...

Cooks' character was basically useless. The way he was manipulated by Dumas earlier on, the obsession with Gherta and the Befort's Children, and even his appearance are all pretty strong signs that he is Paruza, yet they never went anywhere with it. His character just had no real significance at all and sort of just got ignored there in the end.

Other than that oversight, though, excellent end to an excellent series. Now we need info on the US release, Bandai.

Loved the ending, which is rare for an anime. :D

I thought everybody will forget everything about Girishia permanently though? When helga met soran, she remembered 'tina' when she saw the markings on his arm. It's so sad the scientists decided to stay on earth and lose their memories. And to think the only one who would return (hisuma) is dead. :'(

I actually felt his role in the anime was to introduce us to the universe, get us to know about the mysteriousness of it all and leave us wondering, just as he was. Sure, he should've had a bigger role, maybe we could see him realizing the stuff that's going on around him and help the main characters in some insignificant way, like Tina sprains her ankle at some point and he helps her or something symbolic, just to show that he had a purpose after all. So yes, he should've had a bigger role, atleast at the end.

Just saw the last 2 episodes and wow, that was just awesome!
I wonder what ever happened to Thoma and Chitto after those 10 years.
And I agree that Cooks' character could have played a more significant role.

What a great series this was. I just wish they had a bigger budget for more modern animation and character design. I did not care the slightest about it myself, but I'm sure it will be a turn off for lots of people. And that's a shame.
