Fast and Furious 6 is a atrocious movie

Oh look, another awfully choreographed fight sequence that looks like a Step Up sequel. I bet you loved the light saber fights in the latest Star Wars. Here's a proper fight scene with Scott Adkins: Universal Soldier. Seriously, I'm fucking glad that we are over the ballet bullshit of past decades.

Btw Bruce I watched Drug War... the action fucking sucked. Those first 40 minutes were awesome though!

The plots are stupid, but the characters are likeable, the cast has chemistry, , the simple themes resonate, and the action beats hit for the most part.

In an era where it feels like Hollywood has forgotten how to make a fun blockbuster that isn't bloated, overly-complicated, or morose, it fills the spot, capably.

What about the plot didn't make sense? It all seemed pretty straightforward to me.

Straightforward enough that everyone in the popcorn flick-loving audience can understand it perfectly, even.

Is that a serious question? Of the top of my head the part where Paul Walker gets in and out of a federal prison in the US in 24 hours to get some info from criminal. The part where Hobbs nearly kills a guy while interrogating him or he commits a serious offense by pointing his gun at an army general to let one of the most wanted terrorist in the world go to save 1 woman (whose also part of the terrorist group). Oh, and Hobbs and Dom are superhuman too judging by what they can do.

There's a difference between a simple plot for the popcorn-flick type movie goer and one that treats the whole audience as 8-year old kids.

Let's be honest. Everything is a piece of shit compared to Gravity;D

I saw Tokyo Drift not to long ago, and boy does that film have problems. But you know what? I love Tokyo Drift. Besides the plot holes, honky dialogue, subpar acting, and dudebro main character, I was freaking entangled with it. I kept wanting to change channels, but there was just something about it that kept me watching.

And you know what. That's all it is. It is what it is, and if you see something, and it grabs your attention, then no rationalization or declassification of "correct movie making" is going to alter that. That's it, it's over. It's done. You can't analyze what I feel. When the rock flows on the screen water moves.

I love how you're taking the movie THAT literally. I wonder how you felt about the vault scene in 5?

Like the first two are just ridiculous things to whine about. The letting Shaw go was because they knew they could intercept him before he reached the plane. Oh and it was to save his sister, not Letty.

I don't really remember 5 but I'm sure at least one car scene was good since I don't recall it being as much a waste of time as 6. But 5 had the rock vs vin diesel showdown.

And you don't have to take a movie literally to notice the dumb things. And they let Shaw go because they knew they could intercept him? How? Using a magic ball? All they knew was that they could try to do it. Anyway, one of their own died too.

And the action sequences overall were such a letdown with the final one being a bore.

Haha you didn't like it? I love how gritty that crap is. I also LOVE Universal Solider but I am a sucker for a well done choreographed fight scene. Being raised on Jackie Chan I am always up for a movie where the stunt double's were procured from a salt mine to dislocate all their bones for my entertainment.

Yeah that can definitely be true and I feel you on Tokyo Drift. Loved that film

The RT consensus for this movie is:

What kind of drugs were the reviewers and apparently 85% of viewers on that saw this movie and where can I get some.

I find this franchise completely entertaining and actually enjoyed the 5th movie more than I expected. It was with these feelings that me and some friends started watching the 6th installment and...Damn this movie is awful.

High-Octane Humor - The dialogue GAHHH the dialogue is cringe worthy. Now I am not saying the previous film was high art but at least the cast looks like they are having a good time. In Fast 6 even the actors look uncomfortable saying most of their lines and who can blame them with a script that has them saying things like:

"Plan B? We need a plan C, D, E. We need more alphabets!"

Tyrese Gibson is especially bad. The one redeeming aspect of the dialogue is Gina Carrao who is so awkward that they relegated her to expressing her reactions to any of the other characters with "concern face" or "jovial face".

"You've gone from Shaggy to Scooby. This is something we don't doooo."
Oh Luda you make me so sad.

Terrific Action Scenes - What Terrific action scenes? Where? Where are these scenes? You mean the tank part where Dom turns into stretch armstrong and slings himself into Letty or the plane that tries to take off on a runway over 500 miles long with CG puppets flying all over the place the best of those puppets being when the chick lets go of the car to do a slow mo back roll into fog and fire never to be seen again.

Ah that part was actually pretty great.

So, if any of the 85% that enjoyed this movie are awake right now please let me know what medications and spirits I need to mix and in what order to be able to find this movie a high octane roller coaster of a good time.

Agreed. It was terrible. I spent most of the movie laughing at it.

Not at all. There is a world of difference between the amatuer baton twirling in the Star Wars prequels and what's in that Ninja 2 clip. John Hyams' Universal Soldier movies use fight choreography every bit as balletic as the typical Isaac Florentine action flick (Day of Reckoning and Undisputed 3 even used the same fight choreographer).

It's mainly the nature of the heightened reality and the direction that are different. Universal Soldier has Unisols smashing each other to bits, because they can take the abuse as part of the fiction. It changes the impact, but it's just a clever story justification for the style of action. More blood, same level of flash.

FF1 is the only one that feels somewhat grounded in reality. After 2 things just go over the top.

But 3 always holds a special spot in my heart.
