9.0 Presentation
A great story, excellent use of light and ambient sounds, super fast load times, and some truly scary movements make the high production values readily apparent.
8.5 Graphics
The lighting effects and cloth physics are very impressive, while the character models and facial expressions being equally strong. Pro-scan is a nice bonus too, but expect occasional pop-up.
8.5 Sound
Ambient sound and music is key in any horror game and it plays a big part in Fatal Frame III's continued atmospheric success. The voice-overs are pretty good too.
7.0 Gameplay
Tecmo's ghost-busting camera idea is still as fun as it has always been and the AI gets pretty aggressive later on. Sadly, the control scheme and puzzle structure doesn't hold up as well.
7.5 Lasting Appeal
Multiple costumes, multiple endings, extra playthroughs, and three playable characters help give extra life to an already long game (for the genre anyway).
7.8
Good OVERALL

(out of 10 / not an average)

So in a nutshell its more of the same. Good for me cuz I love the Fatal Frame games :D

The story seems very interesting, and I've been craving for a horror game for quite a while (RE4 is not horror so...)

Sounds good to me! Also, this sounds as nice as the Xbox ports of the previous two games, which means there's no reason for me to bother waiting for a port. The reviewer's control issues sound mostly frivolous - this is Fatal Frame, not a pure action game like RE4, and FF's combat has always been stronger than any other horror series anyway. Bottom line is that this sounds like just as high-quality a game as FFII, and so I'm completely sold.

I had no idea this was even on the radar. That came out fast. Is this related in anyway to the other Fatal Frame's or is it a separate entity like the other two?

It's supposed to be related to the stories in both games so far. One of the characters is the cousin (or uncle?) of the twins in FFII, one is Miku, and then there's the new hot chick.
