Favorite Boss in a RPG?

Another one of my favorites:

It's not toughest boss... THat only makes it cooler. FFII's Death Wall rules too.

The Death Wall was quite the awesome boss battle. What made it so cool was the 'time limit' set on the fight. If it got too close everyone would get crushed for 9999 damage. Real, real tense fight.

And speaking of Final Fantasy 4, who can forget:

It wasn't too bad fighting each of them individually...but when you had to fight all four of them two at a time in the same battle? Ugh!

I remember mostly Squaresoft FF bosses...

Zeromus FF4
Kefka (the final one) FF6
Giga Gaia CT
Giygas Earthbound
Emerald (beaten under 4 mins woohoo!) FF7
Ghaleon Lunar SSC
Luka Suikoden 2

Final Fantasy VI had so many amazing bosses. Atmaweapon was so exhilarating with its size and the music that kicked in. Fighting to the top of the tower and watching Kefka descend from the heavens was amzing as well.

Still, watching Necrosaro evolve during the battle after experiencing his story with the elf girl (Rosa?) in Dragon Warrior IV was the first time an RPG took my breath away. It was also the first time I ever saw an enemy move in battl, so I was suitably impressed.

Luca Blight is still probably the coolest, though, just due to the fact that it takes an army to weaken him enough that you can duel him and he even fights you after being shot full of arrows.

Of course, Indalecio in Star Ocean 2 took me days to kill (I eventually got some bunny shoes which made it easier, but not easy).

Killing Deus in Xenogears is pretty awesome too, since you can either kill his angels first, or take everything on at once.

Suikoden III's final boss was awesome just because of who it was.

Fighting the Tyrannasuarus Rex in Parasite Eve was quite a fond memory as well.

Gigantic tower of mindblowing awesome

YES.

also, Zeromus for the music and the ugly.

testament to the attitude of this forum that y'all made it almost a whole page without mentioning Sephiroth.

The Atolm Dragoon in Panzer Dragoon Saga.

To see pics (I'd post them, but they're too large), so here...

I so thank you for that website. I was and still am in love with the Panzer Dragoon Universe. While we are at.

The bosses in Panzer Dragoon Saga where just awesome. That game was just amazing in the art.

The Twin Guardians. (You have to see them in motion though. Here they are both connected)

Drenholm. Absolutely stunning. The way it acts and initiates certain attacks, just breath taking.
