Yes! i think Death Magnetic is tragically underrated (especially in the Metallica community, so i wanted some representation there. I'm not even sure BBS is my favorite off the album, i love it, but there are so many off that album i had to quickly pick one. Reload is also a less-loved album, but it's more coincidence i picked those. Just love those 2 songs. I consider Reload more of an alternative rock/metal record and Death Magnetic a return to THrash.

I dig your list too. King Nothing is one of my favorites.

Am I Evil?
Blitzkrieg
The Wait
Breadfan
Carpe Diem Baby
Until it Sleeps
Bleeding Me
The Outlaw Torn
Harvester of Sorrow
Seek & Destroy
Creeping Death

Yeah DM is fantastic all the way through. The solo break in Unforgiven 3 is spine-tingling. The Deceifer remix overall is much better than the OG tho

Reload and Load are underappreciated I think. They completely switched styles to bluesy hard rock and made imo two of the best rock albums ever. Their songwriting is so good it doesn't matter what genre they do!

So many songs to choose from, it’s hard to stick to five, but here I go:

Wherever I May Roam
Fuel
For Whom The Bell Tolls
The Unforgiven
Hero of the Day (S&M version)

Never really understood the dislike for St Anger by the way, I think it’s a solid album.

For the longest time I thought Metallica is the most overrated metal band in the world. I had bought the first four albums and didn't understand the appeal. I tried to like them but couldn't.
Then Death Magnetic came and for some reason that album made me understand what Metallica is all about. I revisited the old albums and suddenly started to like them a lot.

Now I can't really say Death Magnetic is better than the old albums (I like it more than Kill 'em All though), but I really liked the album and it's very important to me in finally getting to understand the band and start to like them.

Probably the hardest question to answer for me. Number is always a no brainer for me, but top 5 or 10 is always tough. So much to choose from.
1. One (And Justice For All...)
2. Fight Fire With Fire (Ride The Lightning)
3. Master of Puppets
4. Sweet Amber (St. Anger)
5. Fuel (ReLoad)
6. No Leaf Clover (S&M)
7. All Within My Hands (St. Anger)
8. The Unforgiven (The Black Album)
9. Motorbreath (Kill 'Em All)
10. Battery (Master of Puppets)
This list is usually changing on a daily basis though (except for One and Fight Fire With Fire)

No Leaf Clover

Oh wait, I hadn't heard this before! :messenger_open_mouth:

I saw this on many lists and just thought maybe it's an S&M version of some song in either Garage Inc. or Reload (both albums I don't own), but it's actually a new song they made for that album, and damn it's a good song! Definitely should go to my Honorable mentions, at the very least!

Trapped Under Ice

Crystallized, as I lay here and rest!
Eyes of glass stare directly at death!
From deep sleep, I have broken away!
No one knows, no one hears what I say!
Freezing!
Can't move at all!
Screaming!
Can't hear my call!
I am dying to live!
Cry out!
I'm trapped under ice!

Gets me right in the feels every time. I relate to this track more than any other Metallica song.

One is my favorite song by any band.

DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH-DUUUUUUN

Bleeding Me

God, the end with the solos, so good. Also, the last song on the album, "The Outlaw Torn", the same.

Love that album.

The best Metallica song is the one with Kirk. Fucking Satriani-trained Guitar-God, Kirk Hammett.

So hard to choose. My favorite band by a mile. Master of Puppets I feel is probably the most quintessential Metallica song. If I was introducing someone to the band who had never heard them I'd start with that.

I dont want to put together a list but my favorite is Blackened.

In fact now that I thought about it I have to listen to it.

I tried, man. They just sound like a bunch of old dudes trying to recapture an attitude they abandoned decades ago which, of course, is exactly what they are.
I'm not going to argue about something as subjective as music but Hardwired has all the speed and fire and chunk of the old stuff. I'd put Spit out the Bone up there with anything on the first four albums. Hell, I'd put it above all their fast stuff on their first four albums. Do you also dislike Ozzy? He's just an old dude now. Slayer? They are old. Any band that started in the eighties or sooner is old now. Also Papa Het is infinitely better than his prior persona of drinking on stage and calling his audience dicks lol.

Lol spit out the bone is the only song on hardwired that could compare to old Metallica. Also Being old is no excuse. Yes Slayer is old and the new stuff shits all over Metallica. Same with Overkill, Testament, Anthrax, Annihilator, Death Angel, Kreator etc. Oh and old Hetfield destroys new. Not even close. Just watch live shit binge and purge. Bob Rock ruined Hetfield, fact.

Fact? Okay then. I disagree with everything you've said.
