Fall, jesus it rocks. Just when it starts getting cold. Nothing like sitting inside on a rainy cold day watching movies with the smell of wood burning in the fireplace. HOW CAN PEOPLE IN AZ LIVE WITHOUT THAT?!?!?

I hate Autumn and Spring, they're such crap in betweens. Then again, in the UK we don't exactly have extremes when it comes to the weather, so I might not like winter and summer as much in countires where it's too cold or too hot.

I'm most relieved when spring time comes around, but fall is my favorite. It's welcomed with open arms after a muggy summer in da south.

I love autumn, and to a lesser extent, winter. I may end up adoring winter this year since I won't have to deal with so much evil, evil snow.

Summer, by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar.

Fall and winter sucks, at least here in Sweden. Fall is rainy and all-around messy, and hints at what's to come. Winter is just depressing, cold and dark. :(

Spring, I can live with...because you know summer will follow, and life suddenly feels better. Brighter, warmer, happier.

And then summer...if only there was summer all year around. I think I need to move from Sweden soon.

Yeah, autumn is definitely the most atmospheric season for me. I need to stock up on effects. People, tell me what kind of wine is good. For my alcoholic beverage of choice while reading and writing, I need a seasonal change. Summer was bourbon, autumn will be wine. Winter will be, uh. . .I don't know yet. I'll figure that out in a few months.

Where do you live there Kiriku?

Yeah, but I ouldn't be able to drink a glass of whiskey. Well, I would, but I'd get trashed way to easy. . .and NO whiskey tastes good to me. Also, I get out of hand with whiskey. I think it's the irish in me. I just need something that lubes the brain and chills out my normal Andy Dick-ian spazziness.

Autumn, fo'shizzle! Always has been my favorite. Winter is second, followed by Spring, and I hate Summer. I love everything about Autumn. The rain, the color of the leaves, the scent, etc.

I live in the tropics, so the wet season.

huge thunderstorms, massively spectacular lightning, 100,000 visible strikes a year here, hot, really humid very speccy.

The dry season is nice but dull, constant sunshine, virtually no clouds and relatively cool.

I love winter, namely because I love the cold. With too hot, there's only so much stuff you can take off. With too cold, just bundle up. That, and you get to use all sorts of blankets and comforters during snoozes. Also, seeing the landscape drenched in white is one of the the most spectacularly beautiful sites one can behold.

Autumn in Minnesota is freakin' unmatched. Football season, the fall colors, the way cold air rushes into your lungs when you step outside, and finally some relief from the humidity of summer.

Every season has its problems though. Spring is really wet and the sun is just taunting you by not actually being warm, just being there. Summer can be too sticky and uncomfrotable, especially at night which I hate. Autumn can once again be really wet and depressing as the long nights set in, you know you're going to be getting up in the dark soon. And Winter makes it really hard to get out of bed, let alone out of the house, 'cos it's so damn cold.

Now if I was rich enough that I never had to work, winter would be fucking awesome. You could stay in bed as long as you wanted, keep the heat up high, slob around in a chair by a fire and ply games, watch movies, read books drink and eat all day. If you really didn't want to, you probably wouldn't have to leave the house more than once a fortnight.

...oh man, I've so gotta get rich.

Spring rules. It is not too hot and not too cold, it is just perfect and is awesome when you have a gentle breeze.

Autumn +1

I like it when it's cool and crisp, so Autumn makes the most sense. Winter and Spring would follow next, but Summer time totally bites outside of the hot chicas in revealing clothing.

Man I'm gonna have to go with what most are saying...

Fall +1

I love the feeling of fall (in Pennsylvania). It's indescribable. It's still a little too muggy in Pittsburgh, but in a week or two, it's going to be in full effect.

Fall for sure. It's too humid in the summers here in T.O. We have a nice cool breeze for most of the fall, and the weather is just about perfect.

Wow, I surprised so many people listed autumn (fall) and winter. Those are far and away my two favorite seasons. So much atmosphere, and the cold weather is just so much better. Unfortunately, I am stuck in Southern California, where these two seasons do not get the justice they deserve.

As others have already mentioned, and some of my own:

I hate hate hate hate the heat in the summer time.
I hate the sun.
I hate the smog that gets so heavy in the summer.
I hate the humidity.
I hate all the people that clog up every fucking thing during spring/summer.

I love rain. Snow I hardly ever see, but I love that too.
I love overcast (preferably rainy) days.
I love cold weather.
I love dressing up for cold weather.
Your brain functions better in colder weather, that's a fact.
I love that a lot more people stay indoors during colder weather.
I absolutely love the atmosphere that only fall and winter can provide. In my mind, I feel like a Tim Burton movie.

Autumn rocks. The colors, leaves and cool sweater weather are the best. Rain smells different in autumn. Autumn just smells the best of all the seasons. Rain + leaves + harvest = earth smell. Spring and Summer are too hot and full of allergies here.

Plus, Autumn has football, end of baseball and start of basketball.

I like all the seasons.

Summer because it's nice and warm - don't have to wear a jacket most of the time. And thunderstorms are cool.
Fall because it's absolutely beautiful. The temperature is perfect and the air is crisp.
Winter because snow rocks. Christmas rocks. And while freezing your ass off outside sucks, stepping into a warm, cozy house makes it allll worth it.
Spring because stupid winter is over and summer is approaching.

I don't think I could live anywhere near the equator. If it were nice all year 'round, I'd go insane. Change is good.

Summer in Texas is too hot for my tastes. I really like early Fall...not too cold, yet not too hot.

I imagine quite a few of you don't see winter as "really cold with lots of snow". It's weird for me living in a Northern country to hear about places where winter mostly means "it's less warm, and perhaps with a bit more rain".

Of course I'm aware of such locations, but it still feels strange to hear people celebrating christmas while it's more hot than a typical Swedish summer. In Sweden, we're lucky to have summers where the temperature rises to 80-85 F more than a couple of weeks.

And I fucking hate cold winters, when the temperature drops to something like -15 F...I remember when I was out riding my bike when it was around -20 F, my hate for winter was unmatched. I even spoke out loud to the winter in general how I felt about it, and those words weren't exactly pretty.

But in a way, I think I agree with Pochacco. Without all the other seasons, maybe I wouldn't appreciate summer as much as I do.

Fall and Summer are the two best seasons. Spring is alright, although usually, at least in Canada, it seems more like Winter just goes on and on until it's Summer time. Winter can be both good and bad. The last two Winters I spent wishing they were over. This was especially true last year, when I wanted to walk but a couple of minutes spent outside resulted in my beard literally freezing.
