Before the era where Netflix and Disney+ ruled our lives, television networks would often create unique and interesting station IDs and shorts to give a distinct identity to their brand. These were often referred to as "bumpers" and they would play between shows or during commercial breaks. Bumpers were a key part of a channel's on-air brand package, showing what the network is about in a fun way. What were some of your favorite network bumpers and station IDs growing up?
For me, I was particularly fond of the Bumpers from both the 1999-2002 and 2002-2008 eras of the Sci-Fi Channel. You know, a time when the network didn't spell its name like an illiterate drunk? They were weird and kind of creeped me out as a kid.
I also really like the Cartoon Network City bumpers. It was such a cool way to tie all of the network's shows together.
