Favorite water-stage audio tracks?

Any Mario water level theme is pretty damn good, from what I can recall.

Also, from Metroid Prime....Phendrana (spelling?) Drifts..amazing. Metroid Prime was so amazing, damn.

Does anyone have an MP3 of the orchestrated DKC water music? It was amazing.

Not water-based, but the oil drum alley music was cool too.

Japanese or US? Because I listened to the Japanese version and it's very nice.

I also like the remixed music for Bubbleman's stage in Megaman2
Japanese/Pal. I've only heard the US tracks once and they were quite good afaicr, I don't get the hate. But yeah I'm glad Pal uses the JP tracks.

Oh and everyone is forgetting that awesome water song from Donkey Kong Land, mostly because no one ever played it I bet. It was different from DKC, and also very good. Here's a mp3:

donkey_kong_land_water.mp3

It's also Dave Wise's work.

OMG i had completely forgot about this. As a child I cried almost everytime I played this stage...the music/atmosphere was pure perfection.....

sigh...the good ol days...

christ all mighty.... what's the fucking deal with 'water music' threads?? There seems to be one every week.
Talk about 'womb nostalgia'...

...now to shamelessly add mine: the underwater music from FFVII.

why is it that water and snow stages have the best music? one would think they would apply their awesome music skills to other levels besides just water and snow...some games do of course, like DKC, DKC2 for example, but others just have greate water/snow stage and thats it

The 2nd level (I think) from Sonic 3. Hydrocity Zone I think it was called. Sonic 3's entire soundtrack (and S & K's) kicked so much ass!

though bubble man is fucking sweet, nothing can beat Skull Castle from that game.

Anyway, for Water music I would probably pick little nemo the dreammaster

Mega Man 2 - Bubbleman's Stage

hey, it's a water stage!

I second that. You might like the NESkimos rendition of that song, very cool indeed.

Honerable mention to Zora's Domain as well. That water level on Prime 2 Echos is pretty damn catchy too.

Jellyfish Sea from Chrono Cross, and I'm not sure if it counts as a "water" stage perse, but Dead Sea-Ruined Tower was one of my favorite tracks in the game.

Also, I seem to be quite partial to Milky Lake from Wave Race 64, and Aquatic Ruin from Sonic 2.

"Dire, Dire Docks" from Super Mario 64. There is no other. Well, except "Aquatic Ambience" from DKC maybe.

Hm, I'm gonna be a nice chap and put up some music on my webspace for you guys to download.

Keep in mind, a couple of these might not be water-themed levels (like, the name made it sound like one, and I listened to it to see if it sounded.. water stage-like), but whatever.

First off, some stuff from actual albums released in Japan:

Chrono Cross - Jellyfish Sea
Chrono Trigger - Undersea Palace
Super Mario Bros. - Underwater BGM ~ Warning ~ Underwater BGM (Hurry Up)
Super Mario Bros. - Shining Coral
(It's an arranged track from Super Mario World album.)
Super Mario Bros. 3 - Underwater BGM ~ Warning ~ Underwarer BGM (Hurry Up!)
Final Fantasy VII - A Secret, Sleeping in the Deep
Final Fantasy X - Underwater Ruins
Kingdom Hearts - Under the Sea
Kingdom Hearts - An Adventure in Atlantica
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Water Temple
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Ocean
Mario Kart 64 - Beach
Metroid Prime - The Downed Frigate Orpheon
Metroid Fusion - Sector 4 (AQA) Aquatic Level Control Area
Metroid Fusion - Sector 4 (AQA) Underwater Area
Mega Man Zero 2 - Cool Water (from REMASTERED TRACKS Rockman Zero Idea)
Mega Man 2 - Bubbleman Stage
Mega Man 4 - Diveman Stage
Mega Man 5 - Waveman Stage
Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters - Bubble Man
Mega Man X - Launcher Octopuld Stage

Mega Man X4 - Jet Stingren Stage
Mega Man X5 - Tidal Makkoeen

(All fom Sonic the Hedgehog Boom arrange album.)
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie's Double Trouble - Water World
Donkey Kong Country - Water Music
Super Mario 64 - Dire, Dire Docks
Super Mario World - Swimming BGM
THE BAKU BOM!!! Baku Bomberman - BLUE RESORT
(I think it's Bomberman 64 -- I just think the Japanese title is funny.)
Kirby's Dream Land 3 - Ocean Stage
(Not sure if it's Kirby's Dream Land 3, but I think so. It's from the album THE VERY BEST OF KIRBY.)
Wave Race 64 - Dolphin Park
Wave Race 64 - Sandy Beach
Wave Race 64 - Sunset Bay
Wave Race 64 - Milky Lake
Wave Race 64 - Marine Fortress
Wave Race 64 - Port Pirates
Wave Race 64 - Castle City
Wave Race 64 - Cool Wave
Wave Race 64 - Southern Island
(Well, Wave Race is ALL water music. Heh.)

Alright, and the following are from inline recordings (or whatever the hell you call them) of video games. They're set up like albums and are (usually) given "real"-sounding titles, to make it more organized and stuff. Don't worry, they're great quality. I had ones for the Genesis Sonic games, but lost them back when my PC crashed. So no Sonic stuff, sorry. :\

Ape Escape 2 - Port Calm
Monkey Hot Springs
Cool Spot - Shell Shock & Surf Patrol
Crash Twinsanity - High Seas HiJinks
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (SNES) - Lockjaw's Saga
Donkey Kong Country 2 (GBA) - Lockjaw's Saga
Donkey Kong Country (GBA) - Aquatic Ambiance
Mega Man 7 - Bust Man Stage - Medical Science Lab
Mega Man 8 (Saturn) - Aqua Man Stage
Rockman 4: Aratanaru Yabou!! (Complete Works) - Dive Man Stage
Rockman 5: Blues no Wana!? (Complete Works) - Wave Man
(The Complete Works remixes ended up being the remixed soundtracks you could use for 4-6 in the Anniversary Collection, for those who don't know.)
Super Monkey Ball - Underwater
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES) - Underwater
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtls IV: Turtles in Time (SNES) - Sewer Surfin'
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist - Riding the Waves
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (Arcade) - Sewer Surfin' (Scene 3)
Vectorman - Day 3 (Tidal Surge)

Don't say I don't love ya. :]

How has this thread gone on for so long without any mention of Super Metroid's "Maridia Rocky Underwater Area"? It's freaking disturbing and beautiful all at the same time.

Of course, this thread should be nicknamed "The 'Dire Dire Docks' Thread" but that's completely besides the point.

....um, it's been mentioned...but it deserves mentioning again :D

Wow, Zeo, thanks a lot. :) Anyone have the track from Thunderforce 3's water stage? Great song.

Just wanted to say, the metroid prime mp3 someone posted is fucking fantastic. I want the whole damn soundtrack now!

Just another reason why the atmosphere in MP was so damn amazing!

Aquatic Ambiance isn't that great...

The MP water theme is spectacular, however. When I first played that area in the game it was amazing. Nothing beats the original SMB water theme, though. One of my favs...
