Favourite endings?

I'm surprised ChronoTrigger hasn't been brought up yet. I thought that the ending you got when you completed everything was great.

Final Fantasy 6 had a pretty good ending too.

Other endings of note:

Megaman Legends 1 & 2
Shining Force 2
Phantasy Star 4 (though while it was a decent enough ending for and individual game, I though that it was a subpar ending for the Phantasy Star series since 4 was meant to be the last one)
Final Fantasy 8

My answer for this thread. I love how you basically get this
psuedo-ending, but then you're allowed to roam the land for a bit and talk to everyone whose life you've sort of had a part in and it's so awesome. And then the ending credits roll and you see all the images of the pictures that were taken of you during the course of the game.

Like Lunar 2! I be drunk!

Fallout 1 and 2, completely dynamic endings based entirely on what you did throughout the game. Very cool.

FFVII's ending wasn't a cliffhanger, it was an "open to interuptation" ending.

Did Humanity die or not?

Ignore what AC is showing us. Take Final Fantasy VII's ending at face value.

It also has so many endings that you get to earn as well.

I also never understood why people loved the FF7 ending, I thought it was vague and sucked.

YES! Although I like the depth of Fallout 1's ending a bit more. Such a tragic yet fitting fate for the vault dweller.

Suikoden 1 - I loved that warm fuzzy feeling of accomplishment you got after spending all that time collecting all 108 stars and finding out what they went onto.

Suikoden 2

After I got the bad ending in the first attempt I used a FAQ to get all 108 stars.
The best ending was wonderful.
I still love the game.

You're so wrong about BG&E it can be proven with charts and graphs.

UNITE!

I liked BG&E as well, and um...

FFIX was also pretty slick
woah matrix wtf final matrixy?
along with um...Onimusha 3.

All of the Metal Gear Solid games have great endings and bloody fantastic cliffhangers at the end of each game. MGS3's ending stands out the most, I found it really sad.

Final Fantasy VII and X had some of the best endings ever. You would think that Tales of Symphonia would have a good ending after such a fantastic journey, but it didnt:(
