FDA bans the use of controversial food dye Red No. 3

DragoonKain

Neighbours from Hell

Food manufacturers have until 2027 to get rid of it and drug have until 2028. It's already been banned in Europe, Australia, New Zealand.

Most likely they will just shift to using different food dyes that haven't been banned.

Is this why Gatorade is banned in Europe?

I was shocked to see skittles and gatorade completely unavailable in Europe. Meanwhile in the U.S we cant have kinder surprise because some kid choked on the toy once.

Do they put this shit in Coke Zero? Ive been consuming it like crazy these past few months. 2-3 cans per day.

Fruit Punch? My kids drink it from time to time. need to cut that out too.

The crazy part is, it was banned from cosmetics 35 years ago. Let that sink in.

Now do microplastics you corrupt heathens.
They need to limit clothing to no more than 5-10% plastic content. Those fuzzy 'fleece' jackets leech SO MUCH microfibers. Not to mention bed sheets and towels made of friggen plastic. Almost impossible to buy natural fiber or animal product stuff off amazon.

I do admit that a little elastic is nice. And specific use technical fabrics, so long as they are low shed, are ok. But the majority of our bedding and clothes should be from bio sources IMHO.

In Europe, "Red 3" dye, also known as erythrosine, has been largely banned for food use since 1994. This ban particularly applies to most food items, with a few exceptions like certain cherry products.
1994. Only 30 years late America.

Fuck You.

Skittles are available in europe, i saw them in amsterdam.

I always wanted to try the hot pockets but those are actually illegal in europe.

hot pockets are trash. dont bother. in fact, no frozen food is good. They look great in packaging but you take them out and microwave them and they all taste like shit. I guess some of the pastas can be tasty but you cook them on a skillet.

Skittles were banned in 2022 according to Google. But only for titanium dioxide. A different version of skittles is still available.

In amsterdam you can find all kind of skittles and they tasted the exact same, so maybe they use different dyes but they are the same.

Pretty sure i can find them in italy aswell.

About the hot pockets, sometimes you are in the mood for some trash food, like the literal billions of people that eat at mcdonald instead of cooking a burger at home.
I was just curious to see why americans love these things so much :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Just drink sparkling flavored essence water with no additives like Polar or plain water. But if you need flavor, go for sparkling water. You'll feel so much better with that crap not squishing around in your gut, trust me. It's an acquired taste at first, it will taste like soda that's holding back the flavor, but your palette will adjust I promise. I stopped drinking soda over 15 years ago, I used to looooooooove soda, and it sucked to give up for the first month, but I adjusted and now when I taste soda it tastes fucking gross. All syrupy and nasty. I promise when you go off of the sugary drinks for a while and taste them you won't even feel like you're consuming liquids. You'll feel like you're consuming like melted popsicles and you won't want to go back. And your pee will look normal.

Titanium dioxide wtf?

"Ya know what'll really punch up the flavor in these Skittles? Titanium!"

i quit sugar 6 months ago, and this is my vice so that i dont go postal. I tried sparkling water and man i just hated the taste. i prefer water.

But i still need that sugary drink and coke zero is it. I do need to quit it because they found that if you have 18 cans a day, you might get cancer from aspertame thats used to make it sweet.

id rather go to a cheesestake shop and get a freshly made one for $7. these things cost a lot of taste like shit after you microwave them.

That's crazy.

Why would something topical be banned, but if it's eaten it was ok? Weird.

When you see how in bed big pharma is with the food industry.... it's in the damned name. FDA.

The Food and Drugs oversight should be two separate entities, not combined under one roof ripe for corruption.

Fun Fact: 100% of every single class action lawsuit that crops up 10 years after a drug was released to the market that caused people either their lives or living with chronic side-effects for life, was approved by the FDA.

This used to be a thing too,

Now it's synthetics used for these flavorings. Which again, is in the name, synthetic. The human body does not properly metabolize, if at all, synthetic products. When it finds no use for it, it tends to store it in fat cells, which have a tendency to then go nuts and create a environment ripe for cancers and other ailments.

You ever try Polar? They have a lot of flavors and they taste good. Orange, lime, black cherry, etc. Maybe make a daily smoothie or something and have that as your sugary drink? Can get nutrients in it as well.

Isn't there no study showing a link to cancer in humans?

I'm all for it extending anything to "we found a link to cancer in animals so let's ban it" but it's not like we are all gonna die because of this being late to the party.

I don't know what a red dye #3 is and why it's bad. Could someone give me the lowdown?
You grow pussy. 😎

And tits. 🤤

Since it's a xenoestrogen. 🔬 🧐

Also thyroid cancer.

It's restricted in many parts, most importantly...CHINA.

If China, with their crazy retarded regulation on food security and chemicals deemed it bad enough that it warrants a ban or restriction, you can bet your ass this shit makes you grow forehead pussies and it's connected to thyroid cancer 100000%

This isn't the America I know! Where's the freedom!? We should be able to use whatever dyes we want!
I do. I opened a package of ibuprofen and the tablets were bright red and when I saw red dye #40 in the ingredients I tossed it in the trash. Now I check first and buy dye free whenever possible. I get that colors help people tell meds apart but I already have to use so many chemical formulations that I don't need to add cancer causing dyes to the mix.

We don't buy anything with artificial coloring anymore after finding it makes our middle child go bananas. Most of that is very unhealthy anyways.

Once you cut it out of your diet entirely, your pallet will notice it. A while ago I tried Twizzlers again, used to be one of my favorites, and all I can taste is the dye now. Horrible.

It's so enraging to me when I travel to other parts of the world, and I see how cheap it is to spend money on food. Whether it's groceries or restaurants. I was in Antigua in 2023, and on the way home at the airport I bought 3 burgers, 2 cookies, 3 bags of chips, 3 drinks, and a smoothie for me and my travel mates. It was $18. Then our connecting flight lands in Atlanta Georgia, I go to Chile's To Go to grab a quick dinner. 1 Chicken Sandwich, small drink, and boneless chicken fingers. $36 dollars. Shit is SO expensive in America. And not only that but they put so much bullshit and chemicals in our food that other countries don't. We pay a premium for worse quality food. The other day I was buying Children's Tylenol for my sick kid, and I saw High Fructose Corn Syrup in the ingredients. For Children's Medicine. Seriously fuck our leaders for allowing us to get here.

Europe is super expensive too. I was there a couple of years ago and they had like a butter shortage or something. $25 for butter.

I stick to fast food places at Airports. They still inflate their prices because they have to pay airport fees, but its still way better than the restaurants who charge an ungodly amount for a crappy entree.

This is why people are embracing a crazy man as the Agricultue Secretary. People know something is wrong and they want change, no matter what. Can't blame them.

I thought he picked Brooke Rollins for that position?

If you're thinking of RFK Jr, that's DHHS. Surgeon Martin Makary for FDA.
