yeah it looks nice. Too bad the Tokyo studio has to work on the usual franchises.

It may have a staple franchise character, but there's no denying it's one of Nintendo's most unique and appealing looking titles on the system. It seems like a re-invention of DK than a rehash.. I hope I'm right! It looks sweet!

The northern lights and fireworks shots are great. As is pulling tongues. Hell, I like em all!

i like it. But why no stuff for people getting older? Geist? :lol

Yeah good point. Wasn't the reason for the new Tokyo studio for Nintendo to expand their appeal? I can see how maybe pushing simple interfaces might do that, but I agree. Personally I want Super Scope 2. Or a yakuza game where you can chop off your fingers/tongue, or disembowel yourself to regain your honor or something! Fulfill your missions with limbs intact, before blood loss kills you, or before you're hit by warring gangs. Well, maybe not. But I would like something story driven, and engaging (basically more mainstream) but with gameplay the company is famous for.

Still love the look of this game though. I bet that sky and the lava and stuff looks fantastic in motion.

First the Okami wallpaper, and now this. You're on a roll Oli. Anyway, I can't wait for this. Nintendo may be milking Donkey Kong, but this looks like a great game.

Is this better than Donkey Konga? I passed on that b/c the 'eh' reviews didn't really inspire me to "upgrade" from Samba.

Well, they're different games, but I got more enjoyment during ten minutes of Jungle Beat than I've gotten out of a near year of Konga.

I haven't really been around for a week, and I didn't see these in the first post of another thread.
They are bigger than the other ones posted, though.

but he's okay.. I'm sure he was kidding..

the game looks great BTW.. Dec 16th is the day ^.^
Yup, JB is definetly my second most anticipated game of the year. First would be KOTOR 2.

omg is a Nintendo first party game using pixel shaders? it can't be... but haha anyway, damnit me want now... anybody heard anything about being able to play with a "regular" controller though? i'm interested to hear how they have it implemented, eg analog stick moves, a jumps, etc. or if its like, hit R to run right, L to run left, L+R to jump and A to clap.

Well, like BuddyChrist said, you really can't compare them. One's a rythm game using the Kongas, the other's a platformer using the Kongas.

Personally, I found Donkey Konga to be pretty good. Sure, the production values are really low, and the song selection is a bit bland, but it's fun playing a rythm game on something other than the standard controller. The kongas themselves are quite responsive and have a really good feel to them, and the multiplayer is really fun, albeit a bit limited. Personally, my biggest beef with the game is the low difficulty. I can see it being hard if you've never played a rythm game before, or have no actual real-world musical experience, but if that's not the case, you'll see almost everything the game has to offer in a couple of days. It didn't take me long at all to unlock all the songs on hard and get golds on them, but it's still fun.

You may just want to wait until Jungle Beat comes out and if that's deemed to be good, pick up both games at once.

It looks absolutely great. I wonder if there's a bundle with the bongos with that game or do I have to buy them separately?
In Japan, the title comes in both bundle and non-bundle packs. As for the US, well, we just don't know yet.
