Ferguson police: Michael Brown was robbery suspect

This thread is going to go nowhere good, if you guys read this post just pass this thread by for all our sakes.

Can't watch the video right now but his personality is irrelevant and this thread is going to either be locked or turn into a bunch of empty arguments.

Cop didn't know Brown was a robbery suspect according to AP, and he still shot the guy.

Stealing rillos and being an asshole doesn't justify getting a clip emptied into you.

That video's pretty bad, but at this point I'm pretty sure even if you found a justification for the initial shooting... Everything that followed was a straight up an inexcusable mess. No one should have died in any case. I would ask a mod to clean that title up a bit, OP. That's just me though.

I'm trying to decide, not so elaborate troll or account suicide. Distinct lack of Evilore gifs in OP lead me to believe latter.

I find this thread to be in bad taste but I didn't see the OP say he deserved to die. I checked his previous posts and didn't see anything, either.

The robbery was apparently unarmed. And even so, he was still surrendering to police when they shot him. This doesn't undo the fucked up actions by the police.

Paint the dead as deserving and the outcry will fade away. This binary world view of good versus evil is caustic.

Such a better world we live in now that we know this man will never again steal cigars...

Even If the Kid robbed the store, doesn't excuse the fact that he surrendered himself to the law and was still shot multiple times dead.

-The real asshole is the guy going around shooting up a movie theater filled with hundreds of innocent people with multiple weapons and body armor, but throws his hands up after his rampage and his surrender is granted to him by the law. Then we should show him sympathy because he was "mentally ill" like they always use as a scapegoat...

Dear OP, your thread was shitty. Not only did you go for an inflammatory title, but you dropped a video link in with almost no commentary. If you feel like we need further conversation on Michael Brown and his alleged crime, you're welcome to try again.

How does him being an asshole justify being killed?

I'm going to step out on the limb here and guess that OP probably thinks people should wait for a more worthy individual to be killed by police before we show outrage.

Also, I see nothing in that video that is a "robbery." Larceny, perhaps, but not robbery.

Unless there's a contention that the clerk was holding the cigarillos that Brown grabbed.

So store robbery justifies the reckless killing of thieves in broad daylight? Are we in the middle ages now?

Dude wasn't given a fair trial, and even if he did get one there isn't a single fucking state in the entire country that would sentence a convenience store thief to death. It's pretty barbaric that an armed police officer played 16th-century executioner, and equally barbaric that there's people out there who think robbery justifies murder.

Chief Jackson: When the officer stopped Michael brown he was NOT aware that Michael Brown was a robbery suspect

So yeah. Nothing changes, other then the kid (may) have committed one incidence of shoplifting.

I still find that unlikely, by the way, since he had no previous criminal history and he was going to college the next day. The psychology doesn't make sense. But we'll see what the investigation reveals
