So finally got Sims 2, gave it a whirl and so far it's fun but who knows how long that'll last. So far I haven't done much besides trying to woo some woman, and making sure the house doesn't fall to pieces, so I guess I shouldn't be so quick to judge.
Anyways, here's my experience of my first day of play.
I first decided that I wanted to make a Sim that looked like my and shared the same traits, and see how his life would turn out. Even though the character creation is quite nifty, I was only able to pick from two body types (thin, and beer belly), so I decided to pick the beer belly.

But that isn't quite right, so I settled with this (though I did change the hair)
Eventually I got this goofy bastard, so what do you think?
Ya, it doesn't look like me but oh well. I might of been able to get a bit closer if I had looked at different head selections. Oh well.
So now that my sim was created, I had to move him in. With only 20k to spend I bought me a lot and moved in.
Then the house was built. Unfortunately I ran out of money, which meant I missed many nessessities, like a tv, couch, table, roof..... carpet. But I figured I'd get that done (fat chance)
As soon as my sim saw his house he knew what the hell he had to do.
Then the neighbors thought they'd come over and visit me, and that's when Trista and my sim first met.
And many games of "slaps" was played, and she always won.
While one night of talking to her on the couch, she got up to use the bathroom. My sim decided it was time to go to bed for some reason, and when she came out she decided that it wasn't worth putting up with him.
Many more meetings happened (my sim rapidly aging), so I had to hurry this up. Eventually it got to the aggressive step.
Next thing you know THIS WEIRD SHIT IS HAPPENING
After many nights of romance my sim proposed, and it was happy days.
For a long time after that the two sims lived together. Trista when she moved in turned out to make a shit load more money (5x) so it was a nice addition, until she got fired for like sporks (really, she's a chef...was a chef).
But then it happened, my sim tired of living together decided to bring it to the next level and actually get married. That didn't work out too well....
Next thing I know both sims are freaking out and have dellusions. My Sim saw an imaginary psychologist that tried to get him to stop blubbering. Even afterwards he would constantly break out in tears whenever he saw Trista. Trista herself saw a big bunny rabbit that she would talk to.
After it was said and done, my sim didn't like Trista one bit.... but she still loved my sim... what's with that. Anyways after lots more talking, hugging, kissing, loving..... all was repaired and marriage finally happened!
As of now both sims are in crappy jobs, but still in their youth (youth elixer saves the day), and hopefully they can actually start raising a family ....after I deal with that "No roof" buisness.
