lolz

I feel bad for the poor bastard that pays $35 for that :lol
I'd pay $10 tops.

Oh, and that shipping cost is a rip. Put the disc in a bubble mailer... it'll probably cost no more than $1.50.

my buddy is buying it this way. he has no interest in buying/playing DQVIII.

if he pays anywhere near this price, your buddy is a moron. He could buy DQ8 and sell it back for credit and get at least $35, easily.

:lol

Did ZoE/MGS2 have this kinda thing happen to it?

Either way, I digress, this only further proves the biggest draw between a megahyped demo and a mediocre game ain't the part you're paying $50 for.

It's already up to $10.50? I'd feel pretty stupid paying even that much for a short demo. And wtf is up with $6.00 shipping!?

I get mine free with a $50 purchase this evening. :D

We should take bets on how much some idiot will pay for it.

I'm guessing $28.
Pfft, are you kidding me?
Don't worry, it's only a matter of time before some moron uses Buy It Now.

Do you people realize how dumb the buyers are being? You can BUY Dragon Quest VIII for $50, SELL the game on eBay for $35-40 as being used and WITHOUT the FFXIII demo. You lose $10-15 and keep the demo. In this case, you're spending $35 for just the demo. :lol

Morons... now that I know they're so desperate I might do this. :lol :lol

I try to have more faith in people than that, but you're right. I wouldn't be surprised if it somehow goes above the Buy it Now price.

It's $38 at Fry's right now, people are idiots.

Ohhhh my gawwdd. :lol
Well, one could argue that not every state has Fry's. PA doesn't.
But still, that doesn't excuse them for being so stupid.

I love eBay. Everything is RARE! I knew I'd find that phrase in there somewhere. :lol
:lol :lol :lol

YOU ARE BIDDING ON A VERY RARE DEMO EVEN THOUGH IT JUST CAME OUT AND IS AT JUST ABOUT EVERY SINGLE PLACE THAT SELLS VIDEOGAMES! BUT IT'S RARE SO BUY IT NOW FOR $35 OR EVEN BID OVER THAT!!!

I think Distantmantra is right though; it'll go over the Buy It Now price. If this one doesn't, others definitely will.

BUY DQVIII.
PayPal me $50 and I'll leave right now to go buy it. :D

From the auction:

Instead of going through the trouble of searching for it and spending $50 on a game you dont want be one of the first out there to have this exclusive demo!

Yes, be the first to pay $9 less than the price of the actual game including this exclusive demo. DURRR

That shipping price right there is pretty much why I hate buying anything on Ebay.

$6 my ass...

Priority shipping is $3.50, and that includes the mailer. He's making $2.50 extra profit, and while it sucks, people will stay pay it.

I believe if you use Media Mail, it's cheaper. I've sent single discs in slim cases and it costs like 80 cents - $1.25.

It is much cheaper, but it takes up to 20 days sometimes to reach the recepient. I wouldn't mind waiting, but the seller doesn't give you that option.

I prefer First Class. It's around $1.50 and gets there in 3-4 days. Only about a day (or less) later than Priority.

I love how every single item on eBay is 'rare'.
We are all beautiful, rare and unique snowflakes. Oh right time for round two:

BUY DRAGON QUEST VIII

This time you'll get Demi's autograph, valued at just over a hamburger with some fries.

O rly?
I've never had any problems with things I send out (using media mail). I always get good feedback within 4-7 days.

Geez.

The FF12 demo kinda sucks. The game itself is shaping up nicely, but It's pretty short and light on content. DQ8 rocks, though. People should be buying it because it kicks ass, not for the demo.

For everyone saying that people should actually buy DQ8 instead of going for FFXII-demo-only deals, what about those of us that played and finished DQ8 a year ago? :lol

I agree about the demo. Haven't played DQVIII yet, although I hope it's fun. :)

Ugh. I can't believe that people are buying DQVIII for the fucking demo of FFXII. Absolutely disgusting.Even reviews keep mentioning you're "getting a free game with your demo" bullshit.

DQ > FF, and that's how it's allus been.

Squeenix should have shown more respect to the DQ series. I see what you're saying, but what's happening right now is so predictable. Squeenix is more aware of this than anyone else. They shouldn't have packed the demo with the game.

And the only way you're going to get people to notice that is by getting them to buy DQ. And if packing in a demo of FFXII will do that, then I'm all in favour. Some people just need to get over their RPG elitism for long enough to realise that introducing a new audience to a game that has virtually no market presence in the US and deserves better awareness is a good thing for everyone concerned.

It's particularly irritating when some reviews (names won't be mentioned) say to the effect:

The Bad - You're essentially paying 50$ for a demo with a free bonus game.

Ugh.

Right on.

You got to be kidding! Ugh indeed.

DQVIII surely isn't that good of a game. I can think of a few games that had worse ratings and were hundreds of times better. The main problems are the voice acting and the music... throwing in the Symphonic Suite music was a mistake. It really doesn't fit the game at all. But then again, Koichi Sugiyama isn't really that good of a composer in the first place. They really need to find someone else to take care of the series music-wise. He's kind of outdated.

Also it seems to be really light on story. They didn't care to elaborate on how everything happened, just that it DID happen. Also Akira Toriyama's female characters look creepy and Jessica is a man with boobies and creepy sex appeal.
