A female-centric Fight Club style film titled Chick Fight is reportedly in development starring Bella Thorne and Malin Akerman.

As reported by Deadline the film will also star Alec Baldwin.

The film is not described as a reboot of the timeless classic Fight Club, but it does appear to be heavily inspired by David Fincher’s adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s novel starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.

Jack Murphy (played by Alec Baldwin) is an aging and reclusive trainer who helps Anna find her purpose and inner strength.

Murphy teaches Anna how to survive the club and the skills needed to stand up to people like Olivia.

Based on this description it definitely looks like a female version of Fight Club. In fact, it appears to be in the vain of Ghostbusters 2016.

Sounds more like a Rocky parody mixed with fight club. Maybe more of a comedy?

But def has those woke vibes of chicks fighting and proving to the patriarchy that women can beat the shit out of each other to rage against capatilism and the corporatization of our lives.

Yeah that sounds nothing like Fight Club. Despite its name, the movie (or the book) is barely about fighting.

Fight Club was already "woke". Its whole point is about the destructiveness of toxic masculinity.

There's not much about masculinity either, it's more some kind of nihilism : people who feel they don't belong to modern society trying to "find their true self" through self-destruction, and later full destruction. There's not much room given to sexual topics, Marla is the only female, and she's the protagonist's first inspiration for the "not giving a shit" philosophy. In the book it's even more obvious that the main audience for the Fight Club are people who feel down-trodden by the "elite" they're serving (hence waiters and projectionists spoiling food and movies).

Now Fight a Club doesn’t deserve or need a sequel. It was a near perfect movie to an even better book. This need to remake or reboot shit needs to stop. Especially on things that have no more source material to go off of.

Did you know there's a female-centric Bloodsport? It was originally called Lady Bloodsport, but it got renamed Lady Bloodfight. No official affiliation with the series, I believe.
It ain't bad. Not the best martial arts film, american studios just aren't as good as filming mano a mano action, but tbh it probably shows a bit more of its action than the original Bloodsport.

Fight Club is not a great movie and thats why it's low key and shouldn't be getting forced spiritual successors lol. I don't think Fight Club is bad, some things are better to stay low key.
