KI being at EVO was never about the number of entrants(although they steadily increase every year). If Microsoft is sponsoring again, you can expect KI to return.

SFV took the longest. Top 8 ran for 3 hours. Way more than every other game except Pokken which was about 10 minutes shorter iirc.

Pokken had technical difficulties too, as I recall? Also, wasn't there a bracket reset or something in GF? I didn't get to see all of it because I went to eat, heh.

Matches in pools and quarters/semis ran faster than most of the ones I had and saw in SF5. That includes setup time like sticks and shit.

This is my predicted list. MK only makes it because there was one final patch so I see this as its send off even with Injustice 2 launching in time for EVO. BBCF I see having potential to go into the lineup. Lots of folks seem to be enjoying it even though it is still close to the US launch. GG is possible as well but thats a LOT to shove in and I dont see Smash losing a game. If anything MKXL would fall off for GG if it stays on.

Fuck did I miss KOF 14 on my list?! I thought I had it there. :(
All I used to watch at EVO was KOF 13, MK/Injustice, and BB. Marvel waaaaaay back in its first 3 years.
Times changed.

BTW I found a nice local spot that has gaming every day after 6. Different stuff every day with Fridays for fighting games. I'll start popping by to see if anyone shows up to play anything. The plus side is he's done with Smashers. They're nice and all but they are obsessive and wont play anything else and crowd others out. They started bitching wanting more preferential treatment so he said fuckem. Between that and demanding seeding on a tourney with less than 12 people he was just put out with them telling him what to do in his own business.

Sucks for them but Smash and SFV is ALL that exists here. If they stay out and anything else can grow I'd be happy. And I mean ANYTHING. I play all but those happily. One bores me and the other I've got to much of a life and not enough OCD to ever want to play more than casually. Hell I'm even deeply fascinated with all the character gimmicks and systems in KI. If that ended up being what grew I'd even get an X1 if I had a scene playing it I spent my time with.

SFV has too much money hat and CPT clout to be slaughtered in the competitive scene. Plus internationals still care more about it.
