I can't even find a report about top 8. I am stoked that a Dizzy player made it that far.

The event barely got coverage in the usual places, guess that's what happens when you don't have SFV lol.

Tekken results

1 Amigo (Jin)
2 kagemaru (Josie)
3 Shiro (Steve)
4 Nobi (Dragunov)
5 TarisuCutter (Kazumi)
5 HelpMe (Shaheen/Paul)
7 Ao (Alisa)
7 Furumizu (Paul)

Would've been all different characters if HelpMe didn't switch to Paul for his last match

Man injustice 2 has some weird animations as usual but the single player content with the multiverse and gear/loot shit is top notch. A lot of the customization doesn't stand out that much because D.C. obviously isn't gonna let NRS go all Tekken 7 with the costumes, but what they do have in the game is pretty cool.

GGxrd Rev 2 top 8 at both EVO Sai and Toryuken had 8 unique characters, Toryuken top 16 only had one repeat character(Sol). :D

This is a positive in my book, if there's anything you can take from Tekken customization it's that most people have shit taste and don't deserve that much freedom.

Dizzy is actually really good in Rev 2. Meanwhile Ogawa got 3rd with a low tier. \o/
according to him at least ;p

Jazz spreading the Beef love?!

I watched a few of Ogawa's matches, and while I haven't kept up with how Zato's neutral should be played, it seemed like Ogawa took a huge step back in the complexity of his approach. He used to summon Eddie and play a footsie/ground game with Eddie + drills until he got an opening, and then he tore his opponent apart. In the matches I watched, he would summon Eddie, superjump, fly over to the opponent, and do some combination of an aerial attack with Zato with a ground attack from Eddie. It's an approach I'm familiar with, but when I try it it rarely leads to anything great, and it didn't seem to work well for Ogawa either. He also didn't seem to abuse puddle RC very much and instead fought with Zato solo in the neutral quite often. There was also an instance where he let Eddie do his [D] drill in the neutral, which is an enormous execution error for a top Zato player to make.

I just couldn't help but watch Ogawa and feel like it was beneath his peak play I saw last year at Evo. I can't figure out how his match against the Dizzy player was so close, because it consistently felt like Dizzy didn't have a lot to work with in the neutral, but Ogawa played differently from how I am used to seeing him.

Watching the Tekken top 8 some of those customizations we're just painful to look at.

Ogawa pool play was on point, dude get mentally broken easily though which is what happened to him against Zadi. Also, don't think grounded footsies with Eddie and drills works well against the three characters he played against in top 8, they're either very high in the air or forcing him to take flight.

50 bucks for a used (supposedly in good condition) Xbox 360 Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Fightstick TE. Yay or nay? I own most of my fighting games on Playstation platforms, but I've hardly ever used an arcade stick and would like to get some practice in first before I dump a huge sum of cash into a useless object. I mostly plan to use it on the PC, but I also have an old 360 lying around.

That Samurai Jack ending would've been better if the season were a handful of episodes longer. Not enough Scotsman and Jack for that matter.

Really want to get into Tekken and GG, but my Switch beckons me to buy more games for it :(

That's a great deal on a stick. If you're accustomed to pad then you might want to consider getting one that's made for fighting games.

2017 is still the year of too many bunched up releases, these fighters included.

Just not enough time to play and get better.

This is so true. I barely have the time to put into Tekken 7 and IJ2, adding MvC:I on top and then the games from other genres I still haven't played with more coming out?

Jesus this is one stacked year whichever genre you're a fan of.

Haven't even started on Persona and 10 other games

I learn one new fighter every three years or something. Dunno how anybody could play a bit of everything and become a decent player at anything.
