Fighting Games Weekly | Apr 13-19 | This Netkode Is An Injustice

Really enjoying MKX to be honest. More than I though initially. The game changed so much more I though.

I really want to play with it but.. got no next gen console.

Watching how Tom Brady was playing Grandmaster Sub Zero looked really cool. Ton's of Ice Clone traps in the corner (probably was doing that in MK9 but whatevs).

I thought he was just going to come back as soon as Topanga was over. But I'm glad to see he's touring the city and enjoying himself. Looking forward to hearing about his thoughts on the matches and Japan when he finally does come back.

That room of space and time.

A lot of folks are blaming the current state of the PC version of MKX on High Voltage Studios. Never mind the fact that only 3GB of the game is loaded, it's apparently their fault.

If anything, Steam is to blame for allowing the game to be played during an install which is currently not taking place. Hopefully folks on PC will be able to play it in 3-5 hours.

It is then that we'll see if High Voltage Studios improved their port.

It does look like a better competitive game than IX, I must admit. :] NRS were able to improve upon the animations, which goes a long way toward the action looking more believable and enjoyable (although it's still a notch below most japanese made FG). It's also a fast paced game and the damage is relatively high, which are pluses in my book. I still don't like the block button as it just look silly and clunky, but I'll probably buy the game when it's discounted or wait for the komplete edition. That DLC crap just annoy me, but I don't think NRS is to blame as much as Warner Bros. are (just remembering the save bugs in Origins debacle and all the DLC in the Rocksteady made games as well).

Some folks are already playing the 3gb preloaded, Scorpion and Sub Zero alone are playable in VS mode.

Saw it running on a i7 4790, 12gb ram and 6670. The owner of the PC had to drop it to 800 x 600 with all settings on low to get it 60fps.

These Topanga interviews are actually pretty interesting, it would be great to see Smug too.
Xiaohai has a lot of respect for players like Bonchan and Dieminion because they work hard and are able to win with basic moves, but he thinks Bonchan should find a secondary character.

Man I had it on the whole time but..... I can't understand what they're saying :( I wish they had some sort of CC for me :(

Yeah figured as much, it ran at 30fps at 1080p though which I found surprising.

I'm probably going to have to deeply cut the resolution to compensate for my CPU being prone to overheating. I might be able to solve this by buying a new CPU, but I think first I'll dick around with the cooling. Thermal paste and a new heatsink are relatively inexpensive, we'll see how that does me.

It sucks MKX has an amazing amount of boneheaded decisions when, mechanically, seems so incredibly solid. It looks much quicker than mk9 and injustice and damage looks good on short stuff. This could be my 3D fighter fix until VF6.

Looks like the rest of the PC DLC is up.

Hopefully they didn't botch things more. Right now what happened is forgivable, more botching wouldn't be.

-He thinks Daigo has turned it up since NCR. He finds Daigo's offense more suffocating compared to how he was before.
-Daigo remembers when his opponent likes to throw. He's really impressed that Daigo takes that into account and exploits.
-Thinks Kazunoko is scary, but can sometimes be too risky.
-Picked E Ryu because of all of the tools he has. Likes Yun and Cammy because it reminds him of KOF.

That's all I can remember

Did Smug leave Japan already?

I told you guys. NRS fooled me once with MK9, not buying their shit again.

That ain't no excuse. Shit, I was a child when MK3 dropped, but looking at somebody playing it in the arcade or playing it yourself would've gave you that knowledge. You must be a young blood. I hope you know that running was also introduced in 3.

Nah it's an excuse. I didn't follow any of the games or care about them, ever.

First time seeing it.

I swear the nerve of these c viper players/fans

wow all positive steam reviews on MKX are sarcasms about the main menu, what the hell

edit: seems that ppl is just impatient with installs, should be fine if they waited for full install

The nerve of me? Whatchu got against me and have to hide that shit behind a spoiler? Viper players are not homogenous. I still don't really see that. I didn't start to follow with Street Fighter news until IV, but I know about the mechanics in all the previous games and a bunch of other games I've never touched or follow either. Truth be told I think there's only 5 games I try to keep tabs or have in the past.

When most of those reviews went up, the "full install" wasn't available to anyone.

Also, it's a bad feature and they should feel bad for rolling it out this poorly.

the most entertained I've ever been watching MK9 was Tom Brady vs some other dude in a sub-zero mirror match

it was pretty crazy with the clones and shit, insane mindgames
