• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

Fighting Games Weekly | August 20-26

I would have figured that they'd put out a final PC version before they ported it to anything else. But a port is a port all the same. I hope someone who tries the game out at PAX Prime can give some detailed impressions.

I'll be there, so I can check it out. Didn't know that the game had guest commentators like KSK and Tokido as shown in this vid to get Dr. Sub Zero in as well.

Just a heads up NewEgg.com is having a sale for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on both PS3 and 360 (US residents only). The pre-order of TTT2 features $12 off and free shipping. The total comes to $47.99 with the promo code: EMCNBHJ256. Link below.

I used the $15 code earlier this week. You don't get the DLC right away but for $45 I had to do it.

Fighting Games at Insomnia 46 (UK, various games) and X-MANIA XIII (Japan SF2) added to Special Events This Week section in OP.

Some people are busy with their own scenes to spend too much time on GAF.

I'm sure they are, but this shit isn't Craigslist.

If people want to promote their stuff on GAF then I'm 100% fine with that, but if the extent of their involvement with the community here is "hey guys check this shit out" then that doesn't fly with me.

Not that they aren't in the wrong to do so but it also applies to many people who are already here. They rarely post or involve themselves in anything here but when they do it's usually something they want to promote whether it's a YT video, stream they like or something more personal to them. People will be people.

To what degree would you like them to get involved with GAF here?

I mean, I agree, I don't think they're here for any other reason than to promote their shit, but I don't see any of them going out of their way to actively participate in the GAF community otherwise. At most I see them looking at GAF feedback, much like Offcast and Level|Up do, which is fine by me really.

The only reason Clockw0rk joined GAF is to promote PSABR.

Honestly, I appreciate it when devs or community members come to members of their respective audiences and ask us, "Well, what do you think about this?" which is what I assume Cl0ck is doing. I could be wrong because I haven't seen his posts.

Don't mind just being linked stuff much, though. Doesn't really bother me.

Look at Curt Schilling for an example of how not to do it.

I have no problem with folks promoting community events and doing nothing else on here, as long as it's in the appropiate place.

Yeah, things like *ahem* massive flyers are pretty irritating, but a link w/ a sentence or two for a description is easy to pass by if you're not interested. Also, what everyone else has said above... if there is somewhere to post that crap, this is the place.

People should at least pretend that there's more purpose to their presence than to post an ad for whatever and be out. The threshold for that isn't very high, here.

Shinjn and Offcast don't post very frequently, but they post about things not directly related to their projects often enough that it feels like they're a part of the community somewhat. Not that I'm necessarily saying that those guys are here 100% to advertise. I'm sure there are lots of people who are here for more than that, who are busy enough with things that they just don't have time to make 1,000 posts on GAF.

I don't like Marvel and I don't give a shit about PSABR so I don't know the extent of Clockwork's involvement here, but I think that sort of thing is different from someone posting a link to an event or whatever and just taking off.
