I love this version but I think the original version is just too damn hype. The drums that just start smacking from 1:21 on... <3 <3 <3

OMG this a million times. The japanese intro for Tatsunoko vs Capcom was soooooooo good. Hell the whole roster being shown and hyped like that was Godlike. One of the best rosters in a fighter. So much of the cast in that game was all brand new when it hit. I sorely want it to come back to the scene. Too short lived for something that was so much fun.

God DAMN the hype was real for the cast in that game. So fun to use and watch.
This is how many brand new experiences not played before in a 2d fighter that appeared in it.
 1. Ken the Eagle
 2. Jun the Swan
 3. Casshan
 4. Tekkaman
 5. Polimar
 6. Batsu Ichimonji
 7. Yatterman-1
 8. MegaMan Volnutt
 9. Karas
 10. Kaijin no Soki
 11. Doronjo
 12. Roll
 13. Hakushon Daimaō
 14. Saki Omokane
 15. Ippatsuman
 16. Viewtiful Joe
 17. Gold Lightan
 18. PTX-40A
 19. Tekkaman Blade
 20. Frank West
 21. Joe the Condor
 22. Zero
 23. Yatterman-2

And yes I'm counting Batsu because he's so different than his last reincarnation he was essentially a whole new experience this time around. That means out of a roster of 27 only 4 characters on it had been retreaded enough times to be old hat to try and arguably even Chun, Ryu, Alex, and Morrigan weren't anything boring or dull considering they were done up to fit the game and given a lot of effort even if it was stuff we'd seen.

Yeah it's pretty messed up and disappointing. He didn't even switch off of DK in Brawl to my recollection so I wonder if it's just because of who he hangs around with now or something. :/
DKWill still plays Donkey Kong, but its clear he thinks Shiek is what going to get him wins in tournament.

Sheik.

Oh no I know that's why he'd play Sheik, I'm still disappointed regardless.

looks like that's one less low tier hero

Ultradavid insists Makoto is top tier---> Shiro drops Makoto for Abel, Haitani drops Makoto for Rufus, Kelvin Jeon drops Makoto for Hugo and later Decapre

Mike Ross insists Ibuki is the best character in the game ---> Sako picks a top tier character to compliment Elena....Evil Ryu

wait...why isn't sako using elena against gackt's fei long?

the only thing i'm convinced of when it comes to tiers in usf4 right now is that nobody has all the answers and very few people even have most of them

Pretty much. It's becoming really common to see a diverse top 8. Every person in top 8 at Shadowloo Showdown was using a different character.

Acting watching the Smash 4 Exhibition match with customs on that somehow turned Wii Fit Trainer from trash to something actually viable competitively, I'm all for customs.

http://www.twitch.tv/teamsp00ky/b/622208293

To to around 9hr36 minutes for the start of it.

Oh wow. Apparently if you unlock the customs on 3ds you can just speedy dump them all onto a Wii U according to the stuff said in this match. I've been playing WFT customs and knew about the incredibly huge rings built for horizontal recovery, but the utility of jump volleyball spiking to cover landing followed by sun salute is amazing coverage! Plus the deep breathing bomb is crazy.

Customs need to happen. Wait'll you play custom-Dorf. Or scarier than Dorf with Recovery and a jumping divekick side B...Mario's gust parry. It replaces his regular cape reflect and allows him to attack with a light puff of wind as a short range projectile to blow enemies back.
That is unless you point blank it.

A forward smash from Mario knocks folks about 6 Punching bags away from him. THE GUST WIND CAPE POINT BLANK SENDS THEM AROUND 13 PUNCHING BAG LENGTHS! FIxed knockback move too...:)

We played the last few tourneys in Hawaii with customs on. There's a topic on Smashboards called something like "Custom Moveset Project". You use a Powersaves for the 3DS to unlock all customs via codes or do it the old fashioned way by in-game, copy the sets from the thread, and then send it all to the Wii Us used in the tournament. It works all right as a decent workaround. A lot of characters get some really cool tools with customs on, yeah (Ike, Palutena, Ganondorf, Kirby, DONKEY KONG GETS A TORNADO UP B WITH SUPER ARMOR AND WIND BOX OH SHIT). Honestly it really should be standard and I hope that with Apex being over people will stop being so lazy and get this going...but it's hard for Hawaii to justify the use if the rest of the country won't. :p

Yeah, I think the community will be okay with it if someone in their region is okay doing the leg work.

I don't personally care one way or the other, but if everyone in my region wanted to use them I'd be like, "fiiiiiiine," and it'd give me an excuse to actually unlock stuff, but so far everyone I know that's either a top player or a TO just doesn't care for them because of the logistics.

What you describe still seems like too much work. Nintendo should just make it DLC for $9.99 that makes all customs available to everyone. Call it "Tournament Play" pack or something and include some additional features like stages with no stage hazards.

Momochi is only second to Daigo as best in Japan.

Topanga A league meant a lot.

He's improved a shit load tho.

Also I feel like Yun doesn't do all to well against Ryu/Ken due to having to be in the air so much, they have the best special to counter that, especially ken's mp shoryuken.

Momochi smacked the shit out of Daigo in the first stage 3-0, run out to a 3-1 (daigo gets 1 for advantage) lead in the FT7 set and chocked the next game which would've made it 4-1. Daigo came back and Momochi got settled before once again choking @ 6-4 up...

They entered 5 tournaments together last year and Momochi finished higher in 4 of them.

Momochi also beat Daigo online and FT7 in Topanga A League 3 as well.

Kazu's Yun run off 6 games in a row against Daigo in that same A League, so I wouldn't say that Ryu/Ken does great against Yun... it's pretty much just Momochi's Ken that smashes the shit out of him since Topanga A League 3.... Kazu bodies Michael-tan... Momo vs Kazu...is 7-0 Topanga A League 3 (2012), 3-2 & 3-2 SEA 2014 (Ultra), 7-5 Topanga League 4, 3-0, 3-0 SS2015 (Ultra latest patch with a more nerfed Ken)

In short TLDR, Momochi da gawd.

Hopefully they are both @ that Red Bull event.... should be a good grand finals between them if Daigo doesn't get knocked out by someone picking Sim (which is like a 1-9 match up for Evil Ryu even though high dmg characters with oki options usually smash sim)
