The only reason Q likes slow games like Blazblue is because he's a turtle.

No they didn't.
CP isn't slow.

Amazing.

I hope this is a slow week so we can use this as next week's thread title.

From SEX to CP.

I was starting to think that only I read the title with that in mind.

That's not how things usually work.

NPD estimate includes 2 weeks in NA, doesn't include PAL although it won't sell there as much as in the US given the license. Games sales often acquire a lot of sales through slow burn hence games like twisted metal can get to 1 mil despite bad initial sales. MK sold a lot on the front end and sold a lot on the back end as well, I believe it either surpassed or got very close to vanilla SF4 sales.

That's why Smash Bros and Marvel are the two best fighting games. Simple and intuitive play instead of forcing people to practice links for 10 hours before they can enjoy a match.
Too bad MvC3 grinds your spirits to dust if you aren't a fan of the series. Shit, it's well known that the game pisses people off even when they win regularly.
That's why smash is good, well one reason. Soul Calibur is pretty intuitive as well. Funny enough these two games were the ones I got really really good in.
SC is definitely the easiest to understand of the 3D bunch.

Yeah no

THE most unfortunate abbreviation in fighting game history. Something clicks every time I have to talk about the game and I end up writing out "Phantasma" instead.

You know they completely ignore the rest of the world when they make this stuff.
Skullgirls should've "donated" that money straight to evo instead of giving it to breast cancer

RIP Angelina's boobs
$829,000 buys a lot of snacks, free rides and ballroom space. We'd be the Eric Foreman of the fighting game scene.

I'll take rage over boredom any day. Anger is a sign of life. Street Fighter made me rage a bit this week when I faced a good Sakura. I take that as a sign that the game is better than I thought it was. BlazBlue just made me think about how much I wished MvC3 had its netcode.

Or maybe they don't! *looks at Rachel*

I just don't see Mahvel as an intuitive game. That is pretty hard to do in a game that is so combo heavy.

Intuitive in 2D is something like ST. I'd say VSav, but that game has command supers out the wazoo.

That was nearly five years ago. Maybe you'd want to use Tsubaki as a more recent example.

Tsubaki and Rachel are by far the best ladies of BlazBlue.

Marvel lets you mash easily one you know the general system shell. (This is a good thing.)
That's right! It's one of the things I like alot about the game. The general system rules make it easy to pick up and play just about any character without much prior knowledge. (Albeit at a very low level). ABC BBCS xx Super, son!

Injustice doesn't have a very long timeframe to make sales. Also, aren't they sponsoring multiple events rather than going all-in on their own?

Besides Evo none of the other us events have been supported by NRS/WB this year or even responded to. Seeing EVO only get 5k compared to last years MK makes me think they don't have a big budget this year to push the game multiple event wise. They were super helpful last year but times can always change.

Most of our events are pushing Injustice without monetary support from the creators because we're enjoying the game and the community seems to be too.

Ah, ok. For some reason I thought this wasn't the only one. I can't blame them at all for not wanting to go all-in on marketing on the game, simply due to the awkward timing.

I think DOA's also pretty straightforward, but no one seriously plays that.
Yeah, somehow DOA slipped my mind. Doing combos and not looking like a complete scrub just came to me so naturally in that game. By comparison I can't get more than four hits in TTT2. Trust me... I tried this morning lol.

There is one problem. No game blows up mashing better than Mahvel. Being intuitive means it ought it be easy to get good at it. Getting good means you better be winning and it's not that simple in Mahvel lol.

Should I trade in 7 games I don't play and will never touch again for Injustice?

that's a slippery slope my friend.

i used to trade in multiple games for a single title and soon found myself with my library of unused and neglected games gone. ONLY THEN did i have the urge to play them.

This to me is puzzling. If you're content with just pressing buttons, what does it matter whether you can do 1f links or not? Your opponent probably won't be doing them either.
