Fighting Vipers PS2 is a model 2 port

The PS2 version will have selectable frame rate between 57.5 and 60, and higher resolution than the arcade version.

I don't quite get this...is 57.5 the original framerate, and 60 specifically for PS2? Why else would they add the choice of 57.5 fps to the game? Or do they mean you can select any framerate between 57.5 to 60?

Fighting Vipers sucks. even the original Model 2 arcade.

where in the FUCK is Daytona USA? Sega-AM2 even hinted at bringing Desert Tank over.

Well, the model 2 games ran at 57.5 fps and they decided to allow that framerate in order to keep the control timings exactly the same as the arcade version. Problem is, our TVs do not support such a framerate and it resulted in a very strange look. FV keeps the 57.5 fps mode for those that was flawless input, but also adds a 60 fps mode for those that prefer smoother looking visuals.

Dude, when Sega is done releasing these model 2 ports, they need to bring 'em to the USA and release it under the Sega Classics Collection brand and make it an all model 2 collection. Sega Classics Model 2 Collection for 19.99.

Would anyone here buy a Fighting Vipers/Virtua Fighter 2 PS2 double pack if released in the USA for 19.99? I know I would. I'm considering getting my PS2 modded for these games if they dont get released in the USA.

I see, thanks for clearing that up. What kind of special display did they use for the arcade version then? Or is 57.5 some sort of standard framerate for Model 2 arcade games? Cool to see Sega (which dev team is porting this game BTW?) actually spending time to please both groups of players.

I would imagine its the same small team at AM2 that ported Virtua Fighter 2 to PS2.

Dark, do you have VF2 PS2? If so, how does it look in person?
